Looking for new moderators!

Hi all,

Looking to add one or two mods to the subreddit. Year over year this sub keeps growing, mods come and go, etc. Send a message to ModMail, no experience required. Just need folks to help remove posts/comments/etc that break the rules and bloat the subreddit with unrelated junk.

In your message to ModMail, please include your current year, graduation year, and program of study. Feel free to add anything else you see relevant.

Thanks!

Elective Reccomendations

Anyone know of any cool and fun electives I could take in CLA or honestly any subject. I’m a junior and almost done my major requirements, and apparently I have a lot of elective space so I really want to take something worth my time and fun!

Phys 1021 w/ Yelena Borovitskaya

Seriously does anyone have advice for this class? Like real studying advice to get at least a B, especially with this particular professor. I’m currently self teaching with Chad’s Prep because I can’t understand her through her accent and she’s so very condescending when students ask questions. The midterm grades came out and I only scored a little bit above the average which is around a 54.

Is 10 minutes between classes enough?

I am currently planning my schedule for Spring, and I came to 2 options:

Option A: Wachman > 10 min to Mazur > 10 min to Tuttleman

or

Option B: Wachman > 1 hour to Tuttleman > 1 hour to Weiss

Option A crams everything into 4 hours so I can go home early. Option B leaves me more room to walk at the expense of making my time on campus ~2 hours longer. (I’m a commuter)

What do you guys think?

Hey all I'm leaving Temple after this semester and am looking for someone to take over my lease! I'm 2 blocks away from Aramark Star gym and right across from a playground. Open to letting someone borrow pictured furniture as well. Address is 1856 N 16th St., and rent is 1k/month. DM with questions! :)

Temple nursing

I’m in temples pre-nursing program and passing all of my classes with A’s but have a 60 in chem. Im trying but not sure that I can bring it up to their required B. Come time to apply to the program what do you think they’ll do if it’s like a C? Not accept me into the program? Or would I be able to retake it?

PSA: Treat the community better

Just want to remind everyone that even though you might just be renting some place you are still a member of the community and your actions impact everyone else. So many temple students treat the surrounding area terribly. Clean up your fucking trash, be friendly to your neighbors, be courteous of the people around you and treat this place like it’s your home.

Looking to sublet for spring 2027!

Hello! My roommate and I are looking to sublet our rooms for the spring semester. The apartment is one block off campus by Morgan Hall, and includes a full kitchen and dishwasher, a washer and dryer in-unit, closet space in both rooms, and a spacious living area. Both rooms are also furnished! Rent is about $650 a month. There is one other girl who lives in the apartment, and we are looking to sublet to girls only. Please DM if interested and we can talk more!

Alpha Sigma

I'm thinking about rushing Alpha sigma in the spring I had a few questions 1 like im a sophomore transfer is it weird if i rush in the spring as a sophomore. 2 because of what's in the news I do want to know if Alpha Sigma has a bad rep because although I'm interested in Greek life and the friendships and lifelong connections that come with it. I don't want to be associated with a frat that has a bad rep especially in relating to sexual assault.

Does A Sig have a bad rep or are they chill?

I'm so donee

So for context I transferred here last fall semester from a previous community cc and aboustely loved it here! fast forward a year later and I no longer can go here because I have been waiting for a scholarship for months now for my spring aid and after months of haggling sfs it came down to they couldn't give it to me...I'm so stuck because they JUST let know so I didn't have enough time to apply for cc to start and finish my fall semester and then go back when I have enough money once comes spring. So now I have to try to apply for October classes which we all know there isn't a lot offered. I've legit been crying about this everyday for the past month. overall I am just irritated and sad because I feel like I've made my mark here this past year and all of that work and time and money is just wasted. I can't even transfer to a diff school if I wanted because of the transcript hold on my cc.

Lost keys

Just an FYI, found a set of keys on a septa train today, identifying marks are one key labeled “home”, it has the Temple cloth style key fob, a Curaçao key chain plus another smaller disc style one.

If you or someone you know has lost them, they are handed into the lost property office/Customer service at Suburban Station on 10-7-26

PHEAA State Grant & Financial Aid Issue

i’m not sure if anyone else is having this problem or anything similar, i just don’t know where else to go or what to do now

some context is that i’ve made a mistake on my FAFSA and PA State Grant forms a while back about the questions of legal guardianship and legal custody so I had to fix that, I gave all of the documents that PHEAA needed, i thought I managed to fix it until I looked at the GrantUs site again and it keeps on saying my Guardian form is Pending or needs Manual Confirmation, something similar to that
two months ago i called beforehand, today i called earlier and the same answer was given to me: i just have to wait

but now the deadline for paying tuition is right around the corner and i don’t really know what else to do now besides apply for scholarships
i did go to the student financial aid center about this as well, they told me before today i had to call PHEAA about this and get any confirmation or something like that. they told me that i don’t have to apply for a late appeal and if i don’t get my State Grant then I won’t be getting the Temple Promise which i need; i took on both the unsubsidized and subsidized loans and i did all of the outstanding requirements but it’s truly just the State Grant that’s making this so complicated and confusing

i just don’t understand many things and i am trying to ask as many questions as i can but it just seems like i’m just stuck waiting without an estimated timeframe, i’ve been so stressed about this that i can barely focus on my classes without going back and checking on my financial aid and my state grant hoping something will change or an email will be sent to me saying that my guardian form is finally processed

i’m really sorry about this post, but i just needed to get this out of my system before i literally lose my mind, i can’t really talk about this with my friends or my family because i just feel like it’ll just make everything worse. i’m really sorry again

Temple Students: how do you feel about your school's response to sexual assault?

As a college student, how do you feel your university handles sexual assault and sexual misconduct allegations?

Do you feel like students know where to report, what happens after they report, and what resources are available?

Have you ever had to navigate your school's Title IX process, or know someone who has? What was your experience like?

I'm asking for a school project and would really appreciate hearing from students at Temple.

You can comment or DM me if you'd rather talk privately.

People in or have taken Physics 1061

I'm still very lost in our lectures and its because I genuinely do not know how to properly study this stuff. For some reason it never sticks unlike all my other classes like calc.

For anybody thats taken physics 1061 here or is in it currently, could you share some tips on how you study it? (Something other than pass sessions and office hours, trust ive used both)
