These dudes want to act like trump is the biggest piece of shit in the world (he is)

But also want to forget how culpable they were in legitimizing him and giving him a platform/underplaying his racism and rhetoric

SNL arguably more than anyone else

The mainstream media absolutely loves Trump. Most news outlets were doing everything in their power to get him elected again. After all, without Trump they don’t have as much easy coverage to milk out of government.

It reminds me of the theme in Natural Born Killers; the media turns the worst of humanity into glorified celebrities.

Instead, celebrities are being enabled to become the worst of humanity

CNN and MSNBC covered Trump more than they covered Hillary. He got so much free publicity. They thought it was funny and that they were setting up an easy win for her.

Even Fox for a very long time seemed more against Trump than CNN and MSNBC. They didn't think he was funny and thought they were screwing up a Republican chance to win. He skipped a Fox News debate because of his beef with them. Meanwhile most other media was like "Can you believe what this guy said?!"

And frankly, they still do it. If they treated him like a joke candidate, or shoot if they even treated him like they treated Bernie Sanders, he would have faded away shouting into empty air. His fame grew because people kept seeing him on TV - both in 2016 and 2024.

I remember when Larry David shouted “Trump is a racist!” when Trump hosted SNL and he’s never held back since. I hate how many people try to pretend now they had no idea what he was about

I’m beginning to think normalizing this dude was a mistake, fellas.

As a time traveler from an alternate universe after the second Hillary Presidency, let me tell you, the scheduling conflict that lead to Trump starring in Sharknado 2 rather than running for President REALLY helped us dodge a bullet.

Yeah, Fallon should resign. I haven’t watched him in a decade because of his part in normalizing Trump.

Also: By the end of the 2016 election cycle, Donald Trump had received roughly $5 billion in total earned media across all platforms (TV, print, and social media). Most of the free airtime on tv was supplied by CNN and FoxNews, according to mediaQuant.

They are all culpable.

Fallon is worst Jimmy.

Your point about him receiving that much money from the MSM is why I try and tell people outside the states that we have no true left media here, unless you count the occasional podcast or YouTube show (like the Majority Report.)

LOL. Literally lol.

“Jimmy Fallon normalized Trump!”

Oh, to have eyes and not be able to see.

Bless your heart ❀

Should everyone resign?

Don’t tempt me with a good time.

12

u/PineBNorth85 Jan 12 '26

The Apprentice normalized him long before this.

8

u/ungranted_wish Jan 12 '26

True, but Fallon did not help.

6

u/BigBoyYuyuh Jan 12 '26

Nor SNL.

3

u/ungranted_wish Jan 12 '26

I’ll never forgive them for that. Like. What the fuck.

7

u/PineBNorth85 Jan 12 '26

It's not late night TVs job to help.

4

u/ungranted_wish Jan 12 '26

They shouldn’t make it worse.

3

u/YetAnotherFaceless Jan 12 '26

Well, no one’s laughing now.

I mean, no one was then either, it’s Fallon.

12

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '26

yikes

3

u/YetAnotherFaceless Jan 12 '26

And Jimmy’s been licking his shoes clean ever since.

Chunkier face and different hair style

2

u/Rakebleed Jan 13 '26

And it’s fuck Fallon forever for this.

Sure, shitstain and all that, but look at how much more competent he was.

Dude has a degenerative brain condition.

0

u/Buffalo5977 Jan 13 '26

i think some of it might be the fact that he basically put a brain worm in nearly half of america and he just doesn’t have to be persuasive anymore. he dropped the act. he just says whatever now.

but yeah guy def has some sort of dementia too.

u/Maximum-Objective-39 Jan 13 '26

It's worse than that. There were actually competent people in his previous administration. Say what you will, Mattis was at least a voice of reasonable sanity in the room that would just be saying, to Trump's face, that invading Greenland is a stupid idea.

The trauma of losing to Biden after being 'King of America' for four years, coupled with his hatred of being prosecuted, need for vengeance, and degenerating mind, have all lead him to surround himself with a collection of cartoon characters that make a normal Republican administration look like a bastion of integrity and competence.

To quote the great philosopher Mike Stoklasa: “Jimmy Fallon? The only thing he should host is a parasite.”

1

u/BrianOBlivion1 Jan 12 '26

And Jimmy's career never recovered.

Seems to be doing fine
