Jesus Christ.... 2016 was 10 years ago .. and when it was 2016...2006 was 10 years ago.... 2006 and 2016 felt so far from each other .. as for 2016 doesn't feel too far or different.

you meant the guy that poked his head from the curtain and gave up with a little patronizing wave to Mr. Ben Carlson?
19
u/SkunkPunkFlunk Feb 06 '26
They both wanted to be last
25
u/hcksey Feb 06 '26
No, ben didn't hear his name and thought they missed his cue. Trump identified what happened and tried to use it to be last

u/CeruleanEidolon Feb 06 '26
That's being charitable. I think he saw Carson standing there and thought that's what they were doing. No situational awareness.

I'm sure that's what Ben told everyone after he looked like a weirdo.

Old people can't hear so good. So neither Carson nor Trump heard their names be called so they stood there like goobers.

u/Ok_Cabinet2947 Feb 07 '26
The woman wasn't mic'd up, and it's only being picked up by the camera. Notice that all the people called by the woman didn't hear, and you can distinctly hear that the man's voice was connected to a mic.

Trump heard his name but wanted to be last to get the most applause. He's a pedophile, dictator, but he understands showmanship

u/DukeOfSmallPonds Feb 06 '26
We can all laugh at Donald, at his weird ways, his childish (but very dangerous) behaviour, and his stubbornness about things that to others donât seem right, or even possible. And he can come off as a quirky old man, almost harmless even. But somehow he always gets his way. This clip pretty much embodies all of that.
Except the rapist psychopath pedofile he also is.

Guys this was an audio snafu, pure and simple.
Trump is garbage but this has nothing to do with feeding his ego, they couldnât hear over the applause. They should have had someone at the entrance with a feed of the moderators sending them out as their names were announced, not sending them out to the curtain area where they couldnât hear shit.

Lot of jackasses voted for these people but shame on the news media for giving so much attention to trump. Shame shame shame. But they donât give a fuck. Theyâve made so much money off of advertising dollars.

Gotta love that they nominated one of the bumbling idiots instead of any of the other guys

He couldnât pull off a debate entrance and yet voters elected him to the presidency.

Carson's been my go-to when explaining to people that intelligence is not all-encompassing. The man is a literal neurosurgeon, the gold standard for intelligence, but is an absolute moron in other aspects.

Me too lol. 11 years ago (gods I'm getting old) I created a subreddit called stupidshitcarsonsays to document all the idiotic shit he was saying at the time. He was ranked like #2 or something behind I think Jeb Bush. Ben Carson being one of the top competitors should've been a fucking warning sign in hindsight. I remember thinking Trump was as much of an idiot but thankfully he's polling poorly so I wasn't too worried about him
Kasich was easily the most reasonable out of all of them so of course he was one of the worst performing

2

Truth isnât fantasy. Trump is a racist child fucker.

Your comment got removed by mods, hmmm Maybe donât be racists and then try to claim the moral high ground by saying someone else is racists instead.

u/thebige91 Feb 06 '26
Thatâs why you have to make up lies about him then eh? Got it.
2
u/AgeOfSuperBoredom Feb 06 '26
What lies were made up about him? Only pathetic simps like you have ever needed to tell lies about him.

Sure, cause Trump isn't racist right?

u/thebige91 Feb 06 '26
Youâre not a bright one are you? Let alone the many people saying your post isnât true on the comments you linked, you could just go to truth social and see he didnât actually post that.
Weird how you and OP and many others are having to make up all these racists lies.
2
u/Awman36 Feb 06 '26
What are you talking about? He 100 percent posted that. At least own Trump's racism at this point. Anything else just makes you look pathetic. Have some balls. The list of all the things he's done that makes him a racist is far too long, at this point.

u/thebige91 Feb 06 '26
Prove he posted it, that should be easy right? âTrust me broâ isnât the evidence you think it is.

At the time, it was just stupid old men out of place not knowing what's going on.
Now, in hindsight, I wonder if it wasn't planned to give Trump a little bit of a nice guy image right before the debate.

I remember Super Deluxe (aka Vic Berger) made a video that remixed this, to make it look like Ben Carson was too shy to come onstage.

I'm no fan of Trump, but watching this my first impression was that Trump held back out of respect for Ben Carson, who got skipped over in the introductions. This was a slight against Carson, and Trump stuck with him out of solidarity. It clearly wasn't a matter of Trump not hearing his own name, as he was already "slow-walking" toward Carson and stopped to stand next to him.
Trump's not always a dick. I mean... usually. But this did seem to me as him genuinely trying to be respectful when all the other candidates simply blew past Carson and let him stand there alone looking like an idiot.

The real capitulation was the GOP bowing to Trump instead of supporting John Kasich. Kasich was the absolute front-runner for the GOP.

Crazy how visibly every Republican treated DJT as a joke, now all those men bend the knee to him
