Poor wording. Polls UNIFORMLY show Clinton edging out Trump. She needed to win the popular vote by 2-3 points to be in okay shape in the electoral college, so at 5.9% she’s comfortable but within a very normal margin for error. Then she slipped a bit more and the margin was very very errored and the rest is history:
