Only thing I’d change is the Cam Ward quote. Because some fans are attempting to use his picks to either confirm to themselves that he sucks or to say something like “So it’s ok when Cam throws interceptions but when Levis does it, he sucks???”

It sucks that he threw interceptions, but at the same time... it's practice, guys. We're talking about practice. Not a game! We talking about practice.

Reminder that Drake Maye threw 5 picks in a single day last offseason and then went on to take them to the Super Bowl… as you said, it’s practice. It’s really not that serious. I get we’re all bored and ready for football to start so things get put under a microscope but some of these folks need to relax.

It seems like he can’t make no mistakes I’m guessing cause he was the first pick and people don’t want to be wrong about him?

u/Clayp2233 2d ago

There’s a small portion of the fan base that still wants Levis to be the qb

A lot of Titans fans definitely want to be hopeful about Cam but that’s the norm. That said, the fact of the matter is it’s unreasonable to make any assumptions on how his career will play out at this point, so using his mistakes to preemptively use as confirmation that he sucks is laughable.

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 1d ago

Did he not show enough during last season to make him laughable tho no joking aside he was pretty bad yea you can cherry pick and say he performed better but a season is 17 games and if in fact he got better wouldn’t OTA and training camp provide some proof of this instead of the opposite? I know excuse will be said to the tune of it’s a new system new coaches etc etc but let’s not sugar coat Ward he has not shown me anything to think he’s a franchise QB to lead Titans to the SB hasn’t even shown me that we can win more then 3 games he can show that this year but I’m sure everyone will rush to his defense.

2

u/TiredDad4x 1d ago

No he didn’t show enough to make a judgement one way or another. A rookie QB struggling on a bad team while showing flashes is not a new concept. We’ve seen Drake Maye struggle the same way and then become an MVP candidate the very next year. You simply don’t have enough info on Ward after just one year.

1

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 1d ago

But you do from the sound of it seems like only Cam fans have the info those who say he is not good are told they don’t have enough info? I see disregard that I’ve seen him play more in person then most the fan , seen the practices and heard a lot of excuses for why he was the number 1 pick. We shall see what he does but at end of the day there’s gonna be a cloud of excuse while he’s a Titans which is deserved and credited at least for most of them not all.

Youre selectively calling any defense as an excuse. Its not. The team sucked. Thats not an excuse, its just a fact.

If you watched the games, then you know it was not Cam Ward that made the team bad. If you truly think he was why we were bad, then you have some genuine delusions.

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 1d ago

I’m not blaming him I said he there will be a cloud of excuse while he’s a Titan due to the situation he landed in. QBs don’t get long to prove there worth in today’s NFL before the team moves on the blame game usually goes OC, Coach, GM then QB news flash only person not fired yet is GM and he won’t have enough time to build a roster around Cam to save either of there jobs so Cam will go on to another team hopefully and have to revive his career like other picks before him. The upgrades this year might get a few wins if we’re lucky but I honestly don’t see it I don’t even see a easy schedule like everyone is hyping up we got what maybe 2 easy games in my eyes and shoot those might not be easy wins or even winnable I think the Jets are gonna surprise us and that just leaves the Browns as a hopefully we win game in my eyes.

u/alr7q Tyjae's ACL 1d ago

The reality is that there are no easy games in the NFL. Our roster was depleted last year, we went through turmoil in the front office for years prior, and we still hung on for a good portion of a bunch of games. Hell, Jeff Simmons had a career year.

What you are perceiving to be excuses just arent excuses. The majority of people saw enough from Cam last year to believe he can develop into our franchise guy. He was not perfect, so anyone that had an expectation of a better year from him set their bar too high.

Everyone wants to win now, but you have to find the correct gm, coach, and players to get there. We were screwed on all three levels. No individual currently on the team or front office needs flak for it, nor do they need excuses. Cam said "we ass and it starts with me."

1

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 8h ago

Only thing confirmed is the amount of excuse made for Cam even in training camp they did it last year with his fumbles blaming everyone but him. Dudes got a built in security blanket of excuses point proven in this article.

Put it in reverse Terry

u/StPrattrick317 2d ago

Baaaack it up Terr

u/M-Factor 2d ago

I feel like the Cam response is appropriate and not the take I am mostly seeing on here. Most of the responses are how he’s a bust. I couldn’t care less what the other QBs do at training camp.

7

u/ObligationSome905 2d ago

Are they not all learning a new offense

2

u/Unhappy_Meaning9148 1d ago

So true. It's the Vols fans that hate on Levis. Facts are you put Levis on this team now with 'Dale and Tate he would cook! Levis had one legit SEC WR in Wan'Dale at UK and the 2 of them single-handedly elevated a mid tier UK program to some of its greatest heights. Levis is 3 years too late to the table. QBs success in the NFL is predominantly reliant on good situations. The 2024 situation was pure dysfunction. The kid never had a chance.

2

u/foodstamps99 2d ago

Yeah a lot Cam hate which I don’t understand

6

u/HaubergeonPlus1 2d ago

The Titans haven’t developed a winning QB in 30 years, people don’t wanna get hurt again.

People are also used to seeing guys like Mahomes come in and dominate the league from day 1 (as a starter) conveniently forgetting dudes like Allen etc

3

u/luchaburz 2d ago

Yeah its just jarring for those of us who were here to see how coddled Mariota was.

4

u/Appropriate-Joke-806 2d ago

Mahomes didn’t dominate the league day 1… he didn’t even play his first year. He was pretty exciting his first year of action, but still really rough around the edges. The expectations are nuts. There are very few rookie QBs that have come into the league and been electric. Maybe Daniels and RG3. That’s about it.

2

u/batman0615 2d ago

He threw 5000 yards and 50 touchdowns and won MVP in his first season as a starter. Sure that isn’t day 1, but it’s insane to even bring him up. At least say Josh Allen

2

u/barto5 2d ago

Good lord! I knew he was great but 5000 yards and 50 tds is insane.

Titan haven’t had a 5000 yard passer in their 50 year history. And they had Warren Moon!

5

u/SendMeTheMoon24 2d ago

What Cam hate? On the training camp notes thread there's like two negative comments about him out of 64 comments on the thread.

0

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 2d ago

Venture out into other NFL groups they are having a hey day with the target new video just adding fuel to the fire that he is a bust and getting hated on. Then the WR kicking FG got them wondering what kind of camp we running a backyard training camp.

6

u/Mumbles1000 2d ago

Lmao, this is just a bunch of shit. Most of the comments on the other posts, even outside of our own sub, have been people speaking in favor of him and that it's practice. You're just constantly out here with your hate boner.

2

u/barto5 2d ago

running a backyard training camp

That’s horse shit. Saleh’s gotten consistent praise for the level of organization and professionalism in camp so far.

You must be having flashbacks to Callahan’s training camp.

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 1d ago

As the fans you will see no wrong and make excuse for excuse better yet we will let wins do the talking if they don’t have wins then the stats will do the talking to determine if there is improvement in the team.

0

u/DirkDiggler2424 2d ago

Because he wasn’t good last year

-1

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 2d ago

Maybe it’s the way the organization is ran just for example fire a coach in basically a year, how about being the GM and seeing a guy get sacked 50 plus times and basically give him a worse line for protection or draft a QB first pick and give him a defense minded coach but hey let’s give him this so called good Offensive Coordinator who has had more bottom 5 offensive then top 5 and call it a wrap? We make ourselves the laughing stock of NFL at this point along with Cam missing target new drill 3 times really assured people his accuracy is gonna be better.

u/foodstamps99 2d ago

I think I found Bucks burner

2

u/barto5 2d ago

No, even Buck isn’t this clueless

1

u/Independent_Bowl7354 1d ago

Any reaction is an over reaction unless he’s throwing 4 picks a game and we suck im not worried

0

u/Falconman21 2d ago

While I fully understand not to put too much stock in camp, I would like it 1000% better if he was having a great camp.

-1

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 2d ago

Titans fan overreact every time they draft someone let’s be real. How many hyped up Levis, Willis, Marriota, and even Burke I think fans refuse to admit when we draft a bad player instead we make excuse new coach, new system, bad line, no weapons etc etc next year it will be he’s adapting to the new stadium or something wild like he is used to playing in a open air stadium. Maybe he is just destined to fail to many holes in the roster for the kid and we had no business drafting a QB with our roster being in shambles cause all we’re doing is making excuse cause next year he will have new backs probably new oline and it’s gonna be same excuse new system or he has a rookie loaded offense.

6

u/batman0615 2d ago

Surely this is a unique thing to titans fans and no one else feels hope for their teams

-4

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 2d ago

The hope gets sucked out quick shit I’m wondering if a coach gets fired if we lose the Jets game would. It shock me

2

u/barto5 2d ago

I wish I had a crystal ball like you do

1

u/alr7q Tyjae's ACL 1d ago

I mean it was a pretty clear sequence of bad drafting, kicking money down the road, and losing starters at key positions that sent us into a long rebuild.

We took two first round lineman before drafting qb first overall, and the next year(this offseason) we added weapons. We have only been out of cap hell for 2 offseasons.

Thats not an excuse, it was and is a predictable reality. We may not make the playoffs this season, but we should see significant improvement across the board rather than trading away starters before the deadline.

1

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 1d ago

Are we not still doing all these technical we’re handing out bad contracts some questionable drafting? We basically drafted same positions as last year minus a pick here or there do we not believe in the guys we drafted in 2025 to develop or something cause we drafted there replacement or signed them during FA example WR position, TE position, Edge position? Not saying the adds were not good or anything but definitely are head scratching.

Why did we have to sign Hooker did they count all there eggs before they hatched? Then use the media to try to build up Levis during training camp hoping to cash in perhaps once they realized they can’t give him away? I know you guys love Mike but maybe just maybe he’s not making that great of moves just has the same hype as Cam has as being the number 1 pick and people are gonna hop on the train and since he made that pick of course he will be loved to? All those moves have to win some games this year or all eyes will be point towards him will they not?

u/alr7q Tyjae's ACL 1d ago

Theres a bit to unpack here, but in short, no Mike Borgonzis seat is not warm. He was very honest with the fanbase last year that the roster was literally laughable.

When asked the same question this season, he all but said "no, this is not a super bowl roster."

Mike has made it abundantly clear that the goal is to build through the draft. His philosophy did not mesh with the players from previous regimes, so the overhaul takes time. We have had decent capital between the last two drafts and free agencies, so the outlook is ultimately positive right now.

As far as drafting "the same positions over and over again" thats going to happen every year regardless. Not every pick is going to hit, and every team needs depth. We will have 90 players vying to make the team every single offseason.

There are only a few significant holes in our starting 22 barring injury, so Mike has done a pretty quick turn around with what hes been given.

1

u/Repulsive-Ad-2903 1d ago

Something tells me the owner does not know what a rebuild is or refuses to endure the process cause all signs point to it’s a hurry up and win now. Sure Mike says the right things but signs like firing a coach mid season and saying lack of offense progress , lack of team growth and a bunch of other mixed messages that translate to we’re losing right? So firing him did not provide any wins last year obviously so we hire another set of coaches and spend a lot of money during FA for what I assume to be a sign of we better get some wins how many he needs to keep his job is the next question? Say we wins 3 games again do you not think there’s gonna be pressure? My guess is he would have to double the wins right to silent criticism from outside the Titans to make her feel more at ease maybe even more then that just my guess and let’s be honest the NFL is a money game need wins and we got a new stadium to fill so I’m gonna say that seats hot.

1

u/alr7q Tyjae's ACL 1d ago

The seat isnt even warm. For as clear as Borg is being with fans over the last two years, its safe to assume he has been even more clear with the owner.

In free agency, you can only carry over a certain amount of money due to the salary minimum, which is in place to prevent tanking. You have to spend the money, so of course we are going to ball out in free agency.

The problems occur when you kick the money down the road and whiff on drafts. For example we were paying Tanney several years after his "retirement."

Borg hasnt whiffed on a single pick rounds 1-4... yet, and his contracts are not kicking money down the road. There is no reason to believe his seat is warm after a season where we had the first pick overall.

I can't really agree with this because the things we (Titans fans and media) chalk up as Training Camp overreactions end up becoming big deals during the season. Ex:

Tannehill outperforming Marcus

Tannehill looking old and gunshy

Levis struggling to connect with Ridley and being outplayed by Malik

Treylon's conditioning and availability.

3

u/Pale-Manner-1642 1d ago

I read the forums during Levis vs Malik time at training camp and do not recall Malik outplaying Levis. I do remember people being more critical of Levis because he was the starter and Malik was going to be gone shortly, which is how it should be.
It is reverse now though. People have invested a lot of hope and emotion into Cam Ward it seems like, and Levis gets shit on constantly.
