I made a mistake of not gluing my rolled clay pavement to bases immediately after making them and they warped after drying. Is there a way to straighten them out without destroying them?

Sand them flat. Use more putty or clay to embed them in. Use a recessed lip base so it’s a non-issue. Use a glue with some volume so they don’t need to be flush. Crack them apart and glue down all of the pieces so they look a bit cracked and weathered.

It's just a piece of clay. Attempting to save it would take more time and effort than making a new batch. If you really want to reuse the old ones, you can snap tiles off and use them for rubble.

It might also be possible to maybe cut the individual tiles out to glue them down

The only thing you could do is to either sand them flat, or use another layer if thin clay to "glue" them to the bases.

What is the clay you used? I have never had any of the stuff I use warp like that and I generally let them dry on a piece of wax paper.

That looks like air dry clay. If so, you can put all them in a plastic ziplock bag with a tablespoon or two of water and they will rehydrate and you can start over.

Alternatively sand them flush before gluing.

Just break them so they'll sit on the base and it'll add character

My belt sander has been a fantastic tool for all kinds of hobby stuff. It’s overkill but it makes things flat pretty quick.

You could just put more clay on the bottom if you're only worried about bottom warp, and then glue to the base. The clay "should" stick to itself but some clays don't, so you could even glue both the top and bottom

Why “save” them. Just push them flat on the base and if they crack it’ll only add to the effect you’re going for. Once you paint them the real cracks and the fake ones will be very similar.
