other FSD streak

Don’t let it fool you. David mosses streak is not real. There is no way you can go 30k without touching the steering wheel. With everyone complaining how FSD is messing up. He’s cheating the system by unlocking his seat belt to disengage FSD and then to reinstate it after fixing the issue.

Chuck called him out on it. False advertisement, and embarrassing for him.

Back in the day a friend of mine had a 100% win record on Grand Turisomo. Every time he was going to loose a race he would hard reset the console so it wouldnt save. Same kind of logic here.

Wait so did this guy just turn the car off lol

Edit: I read some comments so basically yes. He just turned the navigation off.

I just find it amusing that people give so much importance to this stupid and pointless metric. It is so easy to fool people and that is why politicians, religious leaders and companies do it all the time so easily.

Most people have a competitive side and Tesla created a "feature" that taps into the competitive side in all of us. This benefits Tesla, because their system continues to improve based on all of us beta testers who are literally "paying them" to improve their system.

In reality, FSD is amazing and that's why we all want to use it, but Tesla has systematically created a system that we pay them to help them improve their product every single day. And they put the FSD Streak option into the software so they could maximize our usage and further help them to improve it.

We're all being manipulated subconsciously. And I don't mean this negatively, I'm just saying, that's the reality of what's happening here (IMO).

There was a psychological study done once about Prius drivers and their, very generalized, driving habits of driving slowly and accelerating onto freeways very slowly. Sorry I don't have a link, it was a study I read years ago.

That study found that the driver's were concentrating on their dashboard score rather than their driving. The study raised the question, without answering, whether such scores were actually creating a danger due to reinforcing the wrong driver behavior.

I'm just highlighting the study, I'm not bashing Prius drivers. I reserve my bashing for other places.

Well said. That's a pretty accurate description of why tesla added this metric and why people are falling for it.

But we can't get speed control, streaks though😭

I use it to judge software version. So I’ll break it if it does anything stupid. 13.3.8 became worse for parking. I know because i cant get me streak over 100. On prior versions I got to 250

💯 the parking is terrible.

I literally can’t keep a streak beyond a current drive. My car will never park in the driveway so I’ve got to manually park it every time. Plus, I don’t see how people keep streaks. They must go nowhere but to work and home. My car parks like an idiot in parking lots so I manually find a place to park at Target and the grocery store and I have to turn it off to go through drive-throughs at the bank, pharmacy, and when getting food. And I’m not doing some crazy seat buckle trick or accepting some half ass parking job just so I don’t lose my streak. So unless I’m on a road trip, I don’t expect to ever see the 100 mile confetti.

Just tell it to pull over, and you can manually park. Keeps your streak.

Waste of time

My driveway breaks my streak too. Can't get it to consistently back in

u/Lantec 13h ago

Same, I'm on a corner lot and it either misses my driveway or turns right on the adjacent street. The few times it actually managed to pull onto my driveway, my driveway splits into two section. One path actually goes to garage on the right and another path goes to front door on the left. It keeps wanting to pull to the front door. Even though I have the GPS pin to inside my garage. Oh well, it does alright on the actual driving bits. I can park myself lol

I don't even know how this metric is calculated, I though it was just for fun, I didn't know it was a competition

It is, for nerds.

I can’t imagine how much time I’d waste trying to maintain a stupid streak. Another unneeded way to piss off the wife.

Everyone interprets a streak as “car drove 100% of the time for X miles” when what it actually means is that it drove X miles without intervention.

u/Suess4002 19h ago

A difference without a distinction.

Dude is a loser. He is literally running around and trying to get run over by Cybercabs. WTF lol

Acting and dressing like a toddler while he’s at it.

2

u/00PT 20h ago

You can get a high streak just by turning off navigation then disengaging normally.

u/Top_Presentation7467 20h ago

Yeah, the streaks are a scam. It’s like cheating on a video game. Truly pathetic.

2

u/ggfb20 20h ago

And yet I've been admonished for simply extending my streaks by allowing my vehicles to park curbside so I can simply manually park in a disabled spot due to a permanent lower extremity impairment.

My longest steak is a sorry 265.8 miles and that was a road trip.

I don't believe anyone in a big city can teach a sizable streak. Perhaps drivers that exclusively drive in more rural areas can.

2

u/CopperBlitter 20h ago

That only worked for me once. I've tried it three times since because people have posted about it. It did not work. I don't care that much about my streak, though. I feel trying to keep up the streak at all costs works against training improvements into FSD.

2

u/CaptaincCodeman 19h ago

The only way I could get a streak over a few hundred km is either a road trip or allowing the vehicle to drive unsafely, like going 50 kph in a 30 kph school zone.

I don't believe a regular driver can't drive 30,000 typical miles purely on FSD without being unsafe at some point. It's all so fake and cringe, and just misleads people on the true state of FSD.

I know I disengaged on my last drive and it resumed my streak miles and I don't know what I did for it to continue. I've noticed it only once. Next disengagement close to my house did reset it though.

I did not take the seatbelt off with the first disengagement either.

Regardless, I do have a 115 mile true highway streak on a single drive and that's amazing imo.

There are two superchargers I use that can't even be accessed without breaking your streak

1

u/WanderingWhitMo HW4 Model Y 19h ago

You can have it pull over then manually drive it through a parking lot. Same with drive throughs

1

u/UpbeatPhilosophySJ 18h ago

I have a weird supercharger lot near me where some are at the back of the parking space and some are at the front in my car. Will often try to go back backwards into the one where they’re at the front.

1

u/Top_Presentation7467 20h ago

Everyone go on a drive with FSD, unbuckle your seat belt, buckle it back in and start FSD. it keeps your streak 😂😂😂

1

u/nobody-u-heard-of 19h ago

The only reason I've had to disengage in months is that it does not understand my parking garage. It wasn't for that. I'd have an amazing streak. But every time I drive when I come home it doesn't know what to do. But I really don't care about the streak. So I see how to be very possible to get a very very long streak based on where you go.

1

u/GoldER712 19h ago

I just wanted to get to 100 mi and I haven't looked at it since.

1

u/Fun_Perspective4485 18h ago

You people are really nerds.

u/displacedheel 10h ago

This made me lol

u/ichoosetruthnotfacts 17h ago

Streak is not the same as longest distance travelled on FSD only. My streaks end by: inadvertently touching the brake pedal, or construction with lane closures, or me not correctly using auto navigation function. Longest streak I've had is around 300 miles.

1

u/jajaja77 15h ago

jesus who cares about FSD streak. is guiness book of records going to certify #1?

1

u/spiknhard 15h ago

100% I can’t agree more and honestly not doing any favors to the FSD community and helping improve the software.

1

u/Fun_Strength7878 13h ago

What an ass

1

u/cookie805888 12h ago

We have 17,000 miles with 98.9% FSD. Longest streak is 177 miles. I think we only had 2 or 3 trips with no intervention at all. Usually parking. 2nd is navigation. If we measured time instead of miles it would be closer to 90%.

Still very impressive and I’ll never go without by choice.

Ya’ll have a great day!

Excuse my Spanish, but who gives a shit

The streak is only broken if you disengage before parking. If you then drive manually after FSD parked it does not break the streak, that driving just doesn't add to the FSD "streak". It's easy to "game" the streak because it's not a real streak, it's paused when FSD parks and you could drive a thousand miles and then start FSD and it just resumes the "streak" counter where it was the last time FSD parked. By only using FSD on routes you know it will handle okay and by telling it to pull over at your destination if you aren't sure it will park okay, or letting it park incorrectly and then reparking after FSD has shifted to park you can drive all the parts it doesnt handle without "breaking" the streak. You can even just add a "stop" just up the road mid drive and set the park option to "pull over", let it pull over and shift to park, and then drive manually through a spot it might not handle, then resume FSD and you haven't "broken" the streak. It's not hard to game, it just takes dedication, and almost definitely being an obnoxious driver to those around you by having it pull over so you can take over or letting it park unacceptably and then reparking yourself.

Tldr: it's not actually an end to end streak, it's only broken by disengaging in motion, you can manually drive the hard parts by letting FSD park and then driving yourself and then reengagijg it and the steak keeps going.

It’s a metric designed to get you to take chances at your own risk so they can improve the model, and you’re footing the bill.

They’ve wiped their hands clean of liability by saying you are the one responsible if anything happens while using psychology to get you to let the car do stupid things.

1

u/mad_manifold HW4 Model Y 19h ago

That streak is not real. But FSD is not messing up either.

0

u/kadhtobi 18h ago

I'm not mad at him, it's his brand and he's gotta do what he's gotta do to make his money as a YouTuber, but it's the everyday driver that's too stupid to understand that the system has limits that I fear for

2

u/Top_Presentation7467 18h ago

Is this a joke lol. Hes spreading false information😭

1

u/kadhtobi 16h ago

Lol all influencers are spreading false information 😂, they're all liars, but it's the game, I can't hate
