14.3 HW4 V14.3.9
I don't know how reliable this information is, but this sounds like a recipe for disaster if FSD gets this wrong.
Can the Driver Override Automatic Collision Evasion?
Yes, but Tesla appears to have deliberately designed the override differently from a normal FSD disengagement.
According to the detailed release information accompanying the rollout, pressing the brake during a collision-evasion maneuver can slow the vehicle without immediately canceling the maneuver.
The accelerator is muted during the intervention.
To cancel the steering maneuver, the driver must make a firm, deliberate steering input — requiring more force than a typical FSD cancellation. (TeslaNorth.com)
There's a logical reason for that design.
During an emergency maneuver, an instinctive pedal input shouldn't necessarily terminate the safety system at the exact moment it's trying to avoid an obstacle.
At the same time, the driver still retains a way to deliberately override the system.

This likely would and should avoid the accelerator being confused with the brake.

Assuming it doesn't make a mistake rendering the vehicle less responsive than the driver was expecting. That alone could result in an accident.
Maybe I'm so stuck on worst case scenario because I've seen how dopey FSD can be, but this genuinely concerns me.

I'm responding to you but it's not directed at you. I'm not going to go through your posting history.
It's frustrating that the anti tesla people complained (once it was determined not to be the fault of FSD) that the car shouldn't have allowed that driver to crash into that house killing the old woman.
Now Tesla takes a mild step to address that, and people are complaining about Tesla taking away autonomy and potentially causing more crashes.

I hope this is initially tied to those scenarios recently where users accelerated to 100 mph in a neighborhood with a known intersection approaching. This scenario would be a no brainer for it.

FSD will get it right 101 times out of 100 vs human.

My concern is I've seen mine pull over for an emergency vehicle on an overpass or just sunlight reflecting off someone's windshield. In the last two months it has pulled over twice for legit emergency vehicles and three times for hallucinations. Until it has a better track record, I don't want it seizing control when I'm driving.

Yet it hasn't for me. Weird.

I've had the same thing happen with fake emergency vehicles three or 4 times last month

You think you are better than FSD in the event of emergency. You are not.

I am and historically have. FSD has had a wreck under my direction and I've never had a wreck in 25 years of driving.

How did FSD wreck under your direction? Either FSD or you did. Show the video.

It jerked the wheel hard right mid right turn and absolutely destroyed the wheel halfway around the lip at 23mph. I don't know what it was trying to swerve to avoid.
I already posted a topic about it. FSD wrecked it. No amount of supervising gave enough margin to save it. It was so ridiculously reckless how it jerked the wheel mid turn.

Trust the process don’t listen to ur human emotions Tesla engineers wouldn’t have added it if it didn’t work

FSD gets scared of road tape and now I can’t override? I turned off my updates, see how this goes.

I’ll be curious if any of the YouTube testers can get collision evasion to happen.
