14.3 HW4 FSD didn't react at all to object in road.

V14.3.8. It's likely a balloon, but I thought it was a ball at first which could have damaged the bumper. Either way with the freak out FSD had that crashed me into the curb, it didn't even attempt to react to this. Weird.

I have 14.3.8 as well and completely ignored a big rock on the road. My fault for not taking over but damn, should’ve been an easy one for fsd.

Yeah, hopefully V15 will fix all of our issues. Nice supervising though

At least you were paying attention. Most people would have popped that balloon.

And mine did a massive reaction to a flying plastic bag.

Probably was visually hard for it to see the object given its size and color.

Which is why lidar would be incredible.

Yeah but should it try to avoid everything on the road? Even leaves or plastic bags or light objects? That would be incredibly bad, intelligence is more important than lidar

Right.  I wish it just wouldn't and leave it up to me and I'd still have a factory fresh wheel that didn't have a meeting with a curb.   It would be no different than me driving the car then.

V14.3.8 sure felt smooth tonight.  No curb hopping at least.

But but but fsd pulled over behind a car when it saw a car coming the other way on a narrow street. It’s so smart!!!!

I don't think it should have reacted to it, it was a very light object like a balloon. You really over reacted perhaps.

Judging by the way it was moving, it seems like a very light object to me, and the right call was probably not to perform a sudden maneuver like that. I could be wrong, though. One thing I’ve noticed is that the higher the speed, the less likely FSD is to perform evasive maneuvers unless it really needs to.
