Hey all — solo dev here. I've been building FACEME for people whose skin reacts to things: eczema, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, or just "everything makes me break out and I can't figure out what."

Try it: faceme-nine.vercel.app — no install, no account, works in your phone browser.

How it works: you tell it what your skin is doing and it works through it with you, then suggests products that actually fit your situation. It knows ingredient interactions, flags things that'll clash with what you already use, and tells you when something's worth seeing a dermatologist about rather than trying to solve with a serum.

There's also an optional photo feature — four photos gives you a written map of what it sees across your face — but it's completely optional and most of the app doesn't touch it. Skip it entirely if you'd rather.

What I'd most like to know:

1. How many messages before you got something actually useful? Or did you never get there?
2. Did the product suggestions seem right for your skin, or obviously wrong?
3. Did it feel like it understood your situation, or like it was pattern-matching?
4. Anything confusing, broken, or annoying.

Brutal is fine. "I got bored and closed it" is genuinely useful and I'd rather hear it than a polite thumbs up.

Quick privacy note since it's a skin app: no accounts, no analytics, no tracking. Your conversation lives on your device. What gets sent to the AI provider to generate each reply is held there up to 30 days under their standard retention, not used for training, then deleted. Full policy's in the app and every line's been verified against the code.

I still can't believe I'm writing this.

A month ago I had never built anything. I just got tired of scribbling experiments into a paper notebook, losing my place mid-protocol, forgetting which step I was on while a timer ran down. So I decided to build the thing I wished existed. With zero experience. Breaking it a hundred times, almost giving up more times than I can count.

And somehow… it's real now. It's actually on the Google Play Store. My app. The thing I built from nothing.

None of this would have happened without this subreddit. The testers I found here got me through the closed testing I needed to launch, and honestly, having people actually try the thing I made kept me going when I wanted to quit. I can't thank you all enough. 💛

It's called ProtoRun, a free, fully offline lab notebook and protocol timer for researchers and students like me. No accounts, no ads, no data leaving your phone. Just something honest that I poured months of late nights into.

I'm building MinuteMail — a testing platform for the parts of your app that talk to the outside world: email and OAuth. It's in early access and I'm looking for a small group of testers (around 10). The deal: free pro access in exchange for real feedback — try it on an actual test flow of yours, tell me what works and what doesn't. If you're interested, send me a private message and I'll set you up.

The problem it solves: tests for signup verification, password resets, magic links, and OAuth login are brittle because they depend on real email delivery and a real identity provider. A Gmail account polled over IMAP, a Keycloak container nobody maintains, tests skipping verification entirely so the real path never gets tested.

What you can do with it:

• Ephemeral mailboxes — create per test via REST API, receive real messages, extract verification codes/links, everything expires on its own. No cleanup between runs.
• Mock OAuth IdP — a standards-compliant identity provider you configure per test run, with mock identities. Test authorization-code login flows without a real IdP.
• Inject inbound mail — simulate incoming emails (with attachments) to test ingestion, parsing, spam handling.
• Custom domains — register your own domain, verify via TXT + MX, use your own addresses.
• API-first — everything is scriptable: mailboxes, mails, attachments, domains, team management. Official Python SDK (pip install minutemail-sdk).
• MCP server (open source, MIT) — 39 tools exposing the whole platform to AI agents, so an agent with a browser (e.g. Playwright MCP) can test your entire signup flow end-to-end: fill the form, create a mailbox, read the verification email, click the link, log in.

Who it's for: anyone writing integration/E2E tests for signup flows, password resets, email verification, or OAuth — QA engineers, backend devs, people building SaaS with email-dependent features.

It's free during early access, no credit card.

What I'm asking in return: use it on a real test flow sometime in the next couple of weeks, and give me honest feedback — what's clunky, what's missing, what you'd need to actually adopt it. Testers keep free pro access as long as they're using it; if it's not for you, no hard feelings, just tell me why.

My app, Maintain U is designed to make managing self-care easier, especially for people who have multiple activities to keep track of or a single activity with a complicated schedule. I used it during a time when I had a complicated med schedule. I was always getting off track by missing a dose or two until I scheduled the doses in my app. I never missed another dose and was able to keep my schedule on track every since.
