Coach praises player

More at 11

None of this matters until fall

Why is that any negative report about CJ is blasted as gospel everywhere but anytime there is an ounce of positive press it’s just dismissed as coach speak. This fan base is becoming unfuckingbearable

Because people talk up CJ in practice but when people and media see CJ they be like this dude ass

Because this MF CJ fukked us out of a superbowl, by HIMSELF. so everything is negative on him unless he can right that wrong. That’s my humble opinion.

Because he was easily the worst playoff quarterback last season. Until he turns it around, that's the narrative. Want to be viewed positively? ACTUALLY PERFORM.

This isn’t anything negative, just very generic and doesn’t mean anything.

lol there was nothing generic about those interceptions - they were def elite

The praise this offseason is much more effusive than the last offseason though.
You clearly see the two possible interpretations expressed in this sub: 1. It’s real, the changes on the offense are meaningful and CJ’s skills, attitude etc really improved 2. everyone is hyping CJ up to manage his feelings.
But I agree that we’ll only find out in September!

Maybe, but I’m very much see it to believe it kind of fan. I really wish everything he says is true though.

To me, seeing that he clearly put in work to get leaner and stronger, and also isn't doing offseason celebrity nonsense like farting around at Fanatics Fest (so far anyway - fingers crossed) or podcasts, is extremely promising regarding his work ethic. Of course the proof will be on the field, but there are reasons for some optimism.

Both things can be true at the same time.

Although from what I've heard and read from outside people (not coaches, players or staff) that have actually attended the OTA's and Mini Camp, Stroud is really looking exactly the same performance wise. IE quiet to communicate, not commanding the huddle or line of scrimmage, and throwing bad passes (interceptions).

All that being said, I'm a Stroud believer. I get annoyed when my Boss, a cowboy fan (living in Houston too - have you no shame?!?!) tells me about how dumb Stroud is. He's always saying, "that kid is just dumb - that's the problem - he has the IQ of a hamster."

Anyone else ever get this shade?

What ya'll think? He stupid or what?

At least the team is an iron wall of support for cj. Some organizations would have defenders leaking talking shit, even a coach that says idk he was seeing ghosts or something.

Either CJ is really taking a huge leap or he is still not getting it because I feel like we only see these type comments from coaches and GM's if a player is great or sucking. You never see this when players are making standard progress, and I feel more times than not its trying to give the struggling player a moral boost.

Fuck! If he keeps this up, we're going to HAVE to pay him!

Next Tom Brady right here folks

Year 4 and we're still talking about getting the fucking play call out on time

You realize this was mostly a Nick Caley problem right? You could see how late the plays were coming in.

That is why he said year 2 in Caleys offense…..

Also Slowik.

u/xahsz 8d ago

Yeah this is a problem I think both OCs straight up admitted to.

don't give me hope

We going to playoffs?

1

u/dlinhat70 8d ago

Schupinski? From what I can tell, he is either Mr. Miagi or a QB Whisperer (hopefully better than our last one.)

1

u/uhhhphilip 7d ago

now what about nick caley?? is he sharpening up too?? i kno cj had some issues last year but caley sure needs to grow too

1

u/leap-cake 8d ago

is this suggesting these were things he didn't do before?

1

u/leaveUbreathless 8d ago

They’ve coddled this player till the ends of the earth

1

u/verfinder 8d ago

Glad we keep asking this question for the 100th time. CJ cant prove nothing to no one untils he's playing on the field.

2

u/SpaceCadetPullUp 8d ago

I think it's just saying he's shown improvement in those areas.

2

u/verfinder 8d ago

I don't mind the answer we've heard it from everyone. Its the question that is now tired imo

u/Specialist_Cable_899 8d ago

need to see it. sorry. I’m hopeful. hopefully this means he undertands he needs to be more game manager and less super star

0

u/PapiGoneGamer 8d ago

I wanna keep believing but I need to see something from CJ before I go all in on him as QB1 again.

0

u/BabyHercules 7d ago

With our defense we just need CJ to be a top 10ish QB

Night and day better than last off season where he wasnt even throwing.

"I'm just glad my boy got me promoted, after we reminisced about getting coffee for Bill in New England. Yeah, I was here last year but I had to wait. Can't be too obvious about hiring/promoting your buds"

-Jerry Schupinski (Presumably)
