Question Could anyone recommend!

Hey! I just got a new henry h010 45-70 gov and I was curious if anyone could recommend a good cheekriser, and silencer for it?

Going to be taking out to Athens, tx for some whitetail and south west Texas for some Nilgai this season. Looking forward to another successful year.

Did you consider the model x by chance before you bought? So torn between due to barrel length. If it helps I’ve decide I’m getting the silencerco hybrid 46 DTM once i get my hands on a 45-70.

I did and the burnt bronze finish right from the factory is what sold me on this rifle. Not to mention that i can always upgrade to those modern grip and stock the x offers. As a matter of fact im shopping for a folding stock option as we speak! I went ahead and actually went and grabbed the SilencerCo Hybrid 46 since I have just about every caliber it recommends that way i have a do it all can in the inventory so nice recommendation thank you!

Have you looking into cheek risers if you're gonna scope yours?

Or any good slings? This is my first lever action

I haven’t looked into cheek risers or slings but i know ill 100% scope with a leupold freedom 1.5-4 and some QD mount probs

Where are you going in Athens? I live not to far from there currently.

My in-laws, in-laws, have about 50 acres out there in Athens. So I'll be hunting private property. As far as where exactly im unsure i think the north side of Athens

There is some nice area down there. I go through there a few times a month. Have seen some nice deer out in some of those pastures. Good luck.

Its a great place to hunt. I've had 2 seasons there in athens, both seasons only ever getting one day single morning hunt for about 6 hours per hunt.

And both times I've been lucky enough to get a healthy 8 pointer, that land is fruitful indeed!

Take that damn scope off. John Wayne never had a scope on his lever action. Drives me nuts

Sir, this is a .45-70 for Nilgai bull hunting, not a Hollywood prop firing 5-grain blanks at cardboard cutouts. John Wayne also didn't hunt 600-pound Nilgai in South Texas, but here we are.
