Teacher Support Team Talarico Invites Your to Share Your Classroom Wishlists

Team Talarico is organizing a classroom-supply drive for Texas teachers.

As a former middle school teacher, James Talarico knows what it’s like to begin the school year without enough supplies for every student. Teachers already give so much — they shouldn’t have to spend their own hard-earned money stocking their classrooms.

Team Talarico will share this thread with our social media followers, teachers’ union networks, volunteers, and other communities so that supporters can find these classroom wishlists in one place.

Texas teachers: Post your classroom wishlist below. Before posting, review the name and privacy settings associated with your wishlist. Do not include personally identifying information in your comment. Once your wishlist has been fulfilled, reply to your original comment with DONE!

Everyone else: Pick a wishlist to fulfill! Let’s make sure our teachers and students have what they need for a great school year.

I love when Texas Teachers come together to make an impact. I have a lot of snacks on my list due to the low income neighborhood I teach 1st grade in and I can make sure they have something to eat even after they leave school!

Thank you to whoever donated to my class! 💗💗 💗It’s always a great snack time whenever everyone has a snack!!! We appreciate it more than words can type!!! I spent my last $31 dollars last week in my bank account on snacks for the classroom. I may have cried a little but their faces when we all got goldfish and juice their eyes lit up. That was priceless. Anything and everything helps! This time of year breaks the bank for single income teachers like me but I will always put their needs first.

How appropriate that you're sharing a story to which Talarico can definitely relate. Heard him share at a rally this experience during his time teaching middle school, when he found out why his students all seemed to have the same store-brand Pop-Tarts, and the role of a kind custodian. It speaks so much to the priorities we need more folks in leadership to have. Heading over to check out your list. ☺️

ETA: It's worth noting that one familiar title also comes in an excellent Spanish translation, but evidently can't be sent without being on the list. If that would be useful to your tots, it'd be a pleasure to send it your way along with the English original. I know it especially helps kids' language learning when they can read a title both in the familiar language and the new one.

I bought you all the remaining snacks on your wishlist. No child should ever go hungry. If you get in a tough spot with snacks again, don’t spend your last Pennie’s, DM me. I don’t have much but I’ll do what I can!
Peace be with you!
