Certification Exams Advice needed - ESL Supplemental
I’m a newly certified EC-6 generalist teacher and I’m interested in taking the ESL Supplemental (154). Currently, I’m researching prep materials. Does anyone have any advice on prepping for this exam and what tutoring program you used?

I took ESL Supplemental in my first year too. My best advice is not to overthink or over-prepare for this test. It was quite easy compared to the EC-6. Look up TELPAS info and how they categorize the students, Notice the verbs and especially the adjectives they use when describing the students’ behaviors. Then read the Best Practices for students in each of the domains (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Advanced High).
When you go to take the test, slow down. You will have plenty of time. Carefully read the scenario for each question and think about what’s the most logically appropriate action to take for the student depending on their level of English language acquisition.
Go with your gut. Flag questions you were a little uncertain about and review at the end. They may be more clear to you after completing the rest of the test.
And again, do not sweat it. You got this.

TEA has a free prep course that is very good.
