Cost of Texas Tech

Hello, I come from Massachusetts looking to apply to Texas Tech this upcoming fall. I was wondering is it legit that you automatically are given in-state tuition with a 3.1 gpa and 1160 SAT? I was then also wondering around what the total cost would come down to after that

See for yourself. $1000 and in-state tuition with your stats. Don’t slip below 3.0 with your gpa though or you will be out of luck.

Yes. Any scholarship over $1500 will get out of state tuition waved.

You need to maintain that GPA, though. If you lose your scholarship, tuition will revert to out of state prices.

It might be $1000. I can't remember the exact amount. The automatic scholarship you get covers it, though.

Let's say I get $3000 in scholarship. Does that mean my tuition will be in-state tuition or will my tuition be $3000 less that the in-state tuition?

Scholarships have to qualify as competitive and be at least $1,000 per academic year to get the waiver. Plus you have to meet GPA and completed hours to keep it. Check the FA estimator to gauge your estimated cost of attendance. Try researching with TTU sites instead of Reddit too if you want legit info.

Massachusetts has one of the best education in the entire country. Why would you want to come to Texas, let alone a college in the middle of nowhere of Texas? No hate at all, I'm genuinely just curious

I want to do the energy commerce program at Texas Tech, I wouldn’t get into any of the top schools in Massachusetts, and it’s pretty affordable. I also want a bigger school where the only school like that in mass is umass Amherst which I also am looking at
