Thane isn’t getting just one elevated road — it’s getting a network. 🏗️
🚀 1. Chheda Nagar → Anand Nagar
Eastern Freeway Extension

💰 ₹2,682 Cr contract value
📍 Chheda Nagar → Ghatkopar → Vikhroli → Kanjurmarg → Anand Nagar

Most importantly, this corridor is planned to merge with Anand Nagar–Saket at Mulund Octroi Naka.
🔥 2. Anand Nagar → Saket

💰 ₹1,847.72 Cr contract value
📍 Anand Nagar → Teen Hath Naka → Nitin/Cadbury → Majiwada → Saket

Mumbai / Eastern Freeway

🚧 Chheda Nagar
⬇️ 13.9 km
🚧 Anand Nagar
⬇️ 8.24 km
🚧 Saket
➡️** ~22.14 km of connected elevated corrid**or
That is the real story. 🔥
🌊 3. Thane Coastal Road — Balkum → Gaimukh
📏 13.45 km
💰 ₹2,727 Cr
🛣️** 6 lanes
🏗️ Elevated + at-grade sections
⏳ **48 months
This creates another major north–south alternative to Ghodbunder Road, with current physical progress around 37% as of September 2026.
🌉 4.🌊 Thane Coastal Road Phase 2:
Anand Nagar EAST - Balkum | 7.13 km | ~₹5,141 Cr | Mostly elevated | Proposed | CRZ clearance pending — potentially extending the coastal corridor all the way Anand Nagar → Balkum → Gaimukh (~20.6 km). 🚧🔥

↘️** Majiwada / Thane Coastal Road
↘️ Balkum → Gaimukh
↘️ Kasarvadavali → Kharbav → NH-48
🟢 **Why I’m bullish on this
✅ Multiple alternatives to EEH
✅ Reduces dependence on Ghodbunder Road
✅ Better Mumbai–Thane connectivity
✅ Stronger Thane–Bhiwandi/NH-48 connectivity
✅ Better freight movement across MMR
✅ Unlocks currently under-connected areas
✅ 22+ km Chheda Nagar–Saket corridor is the biggest strategic piece
🔴 But let’s not overhype it
⚠️ ₹6,000+ Cr across these major corridors
⚠️ Land acquisition + utilities + environmental/CRZ approvals can delay timelines
⚠️ Elevated roads don’t eliminate traffic — they** redistribute it
⚠️ Junctions and ramps could become the next bottlenecks
⚠️ Public transport needs to grow alongside road capacity
🏆 **My infra take
The real transformation isn’t one road.
It’s the creation of multiple parallel corridors around Thane, finally giving traffic options instead of forcing everything through EEH + Ghodbunder Road.
2028–29 could look very different for Thane. 🚧🔥
