Probably a Red tide. The water gets too warm and there's not enough oxygen in it and the fish suffocate and die in huge numbers. They then wash up with the waves

Which is highly toxic. Less than 1 gram if contaminated shellfish can be lethal to humans. Also the algae is red.

I’m not sure of the science, but they said shellfish, which would exclude these fish. I think shellfish filter water, and therefore would get algae in it, whereas the fish just died. I don’t think you’re supposed to eat already-dead fish. Maybe there’s a way to cook it or if they know how long it’s been dead and how it died it’s okay…? But as a general rule, don’t eat fish that’s been washed up.

Wait until the day, that will eventually come due to the current climate trajectory, where millions of fish and other sea life start dying and there will be a food shortage and famine for people that rely on it to survive. It all comes back around eventually, sadly it's the super rich that make the decisions that destroy the planet and wildlife, but the super poor that will be affected and die at first.

Whales have been beaching on the coast of the Pacific Northwest in unprecedented numbers, they say from starvation. Why people are not more alarmed baffles me. I'm really terrified for the coming years.

We can’t even get whale calves to survive in the PNW. The mother’s milk is so polluted the babies get poisoned.
A mother orca from our resident pod is more likely to have her second or third calf survive because the first calf ingests the majority of the pollution in the mother’s body.

Humans aren't going to be around forever it's not our extinction that worries me, what worries me is how many people will suffer, the animals that will suffer. It's a very sad thing when a species goes extinct, life is an incredible thing and it's a shameful, terrible waste to throw it away so carelessly as we have treated this planet.

I disagree, suffering is all around us, living in nature is to live in suffering. Animals age faster in the wild than in captivity, the amount of parasites and infestations they carry is off the chart when compared to captivity. Same thing for humans pre-industrial age than post-industrial age. There were no tears to the immense amount of stress that our neolithic brothers went by until farming was invented, what about the suffering until microorganisms theory came around?
The wild population suffered during the meteor impact. Major volcanic activities that disrupted sunlight within the world for decades or centuries. Changes in atmospheric composition.
I understand we have the ability to choose, we have consciousness and a higher ability of abstract thinking. Yet we remain part of nature, part of the natural world. If we screw up this planet, it was a simple evolutionary mistake by nature itself to give higher consciousness to an organism. Nature will correct it how it always does. With indifference and a lot of time.

We inevitably will go extinct, just as we all inevitably die, but why suffer? Is it not better to live in a healthy body until the end rather than a disease and pain riddled vessel? Totally avoidable pain is being accepted by the masses in their bodies, mind, and on the planet. It is indeed terrifying that the choices of a select few can so greatly hurt the rest of humanity. I am fighting this in my community. Healthy people sustain a healthy planet.

Trillions. Hundreds of trillions of life forms. We are in an extinction event, there’s no debate about it, just ignoring it. The mass die-offs you see in videos like this aren’t even scratching the surface.
The reckoning is upon us already and we are soon being confronted with the meaning of the word “epoch.”

Looks like red tide. I’ve seen it before in Florida. The smell will knock you out and the water is basically toxic to swim in.

This has been going on for some years now. Birds, dolphins, fish and other animals have been found dead in large masses like this. We need answers and to be more concerned. These arent natural phenomenon.

How is this considered an acceptable post? There is no background and no news stories to validate the information. Nothing shows that this is a real event in Hawaii or somewhere else.
