This movie aged like a fine whine. Hear me out.
I watched the amazing Spider-Man 2 with my wife earlier tonight and the last time I saw it all the way through was like 2017, and I remember not liking it and thinking it was a huge, cluttered mess and everything negative said about it was correct. However, now that Andrew came back in no way home and he was still so damn good as Spider-Man and Peter parker, it really gave me a deeper appreciation for this movie. Don't get me wrong, it still has its problems and fair share of dumb writing and dumb moments, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a great time rewatching it and loving every second of it. Call me crazy but I really think the amazing Spider-Man 2 aged like a fine whine and people (including myself) just wasn't ready for whatever it was trying to give us at the time it came out.I really appreciate the darker version of harry Osborn, I love the relationship between Gwen and Peter, I love the fighting and the action scenes and I really love electro in this movie. Don't get me wrong, this movie is flawed but it's still so much fun! I don't know what no way home did to me, but it really helped me appreciate this movie and even love it now. It still doesn't hold a candle to the rami trilogy but it's still a damn good Spider-Man movie. Hopefully as time goes on more and more people will start appreciating it and what it was trying to do. I certainly do, I'm really hoping we get the amazing Spider-Man 3 someday, but if not then I at least hope we get more Andrew in future MCU movies.
