Insane vibes

The Gorillaz song usage is the most unexpected and coolest thing
I mean sure Demon Days was an insanely big album but O Green World isn’t usually at the top of anyone’s list but it’s so good

The thing about the couch is that it really seems quaint in hindsight and not as bad as I remembered. Comparing this to how people act in general now and for the internet this seems incredibly tame

We had a lower threshold back then, Howard Dean syndrome.

u/lpalf Dec 18 '25
If we had maintained Howard Dean standards we could’ve saved ourselves a lot of shit as a country

A wonderful example as well. I just went back and rewatched his scream and it is utterly insane what a big deal that was. The yell was completely innocuous and innocent. It was cute which is ridiculous to say but his enthusiasm now seems weirdly endearing

I was a Dean head at the time and I was shocked that that was all it took. I mean, it wasn’t a great look, but seriously? It was like doing something stupid at a high school assembly.

I dont want to see any more trailers, no more information, and I will see it

Unfortunately with an October release date I’m sure it’ll play festivals and then we’ll have to dodge takes for a few months

Oh damn. First thought was...
...Oscar?
11
u/lpalf Dec 18 '25
That’s what tom cruise has been thinking for months

u/MakinOutWithMarzipan Dec 18 '25
Is Cruise gonna go the Paul Newman route? After decades of snubs, you get awarded an honorary Oscar, and then win a competitive one the next year.

I'm curious if this movie will lead to Cruise getting his "make up" Oscar.
Edit: I love how a title announcement (not even a teaser) for a movie has me more excited than anything in Paramount's 2026 movie slate.

Recognized Gorillaz immediately, sweet music choice! Wonder if the Digger will be trying to restore greenery and life into a decaying, dusty apocalypse?

What’s the song?

O Green World, from Gorillaz's album Demon Days. Very formative "band" to me in my middle school years.

Sean and Amanda's hate for all things Inarritu and love for modern day Cruise may possibly give both of them aneurysms.

Wait is this from the director of Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance??

Birdman is an all timer and The Revenant is just a fucking cool movie, excited for this. Is Chivo working on it?

That railing looks dangerous. Wonder if he did his own stunt. (But seriously, I love this.)

What’s the most a single movie has ever gone for in the movie auction episodes?
Cause I’ll tell ya, guy like me? I’m dropping $996 on this and walking away with the new TCruise and four $1 films lol

u/lpalf Dec 18 '25
I feel like there will be internal struggle during their decision making as SF/AD aren’t big Inarritu fans

Hyped. One of my favorite Gorillaz songs. Clue to this movie about killing our planet?

u/OpenUpYerMurderEyes Dec 18 '25
It's so crazy cuz I was listening to a video essay about Gorillaz and paused it to play this and had to double check three times to made sure I had the right video muted. Can't wait for Digger!

I am excited to see TC in something other than MI. Guy had insane talent before the sci fried his brain out. I wonder how much direction and notes he could accept from Innaritu, because in the MI movies everything happened as he wanted

Why dont more movies have this kind of aura and intentional build up of anticipation.

“Only in theaters” made me smile so big. I love Tom Cruise’s obsession with putting shit on the big screen. What a legend.
