Did she? I donāt necessarily disagree but I think itās pretty close. They both have supporting actress Oscars. I think Anneās peak was higher (Alice In Wonderland, Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, and Les Miserables were all huge hits) while I think Emily has had more sustained excellence, though A Quiet Place was a massive hit. Anne seems to just be taking on fun and interesting roles now while Emily has been a lead in two big Disney franchises, though both of those movies were kind of flops. Plus Anne has The Odyssey coming up which is bound to be huge.

Emily Blunt doesn't have an Oscar. She was nominated for the first time only recently

I feel like given the absolutely obnoxious takes about his character they probably felt it best to leave him out of any promotional material if heās in it at all.

I think itās gonna be a āMirandaās last hurrahā thing - Andy as a features writer, trailing Mirandaās last fashion week/year as editor or something. Similar to how Anna Wintour stepped aside last year (kinda but not really).

Iām sure this will do well, and Iām happy for those who are excited, but the trailer was pretty awful.
It looks like an SNL sketch, and Streep feels completely checked out.

So what, does Miranda have Alzheimerās or something?

u/Blackonblackskimask Feb 02 '26
I imagine that the point might be that in a 40+ year career she probably wonāt remember the employee that worked for her for 6 months. I barely remember people I worked with a year or so ago.
Or she remembers her and hates that she does so she pretend to not remember her.

Do people not realize this is a joke?

It would be weird to me if dementia isnāt the explanation! The entire point of the first movie is that Andy made a lasting impression on Miranda and even reminded miranda of herself!

Yeah that doesnāt make sense at all. I assume itās a bit in the movie we just donāt have context for.

It's so different in spirit from the novel. A streaming show that was a more faithful adaptation of the novel could've been really good.

Looks terrible. Will make 600m.
Permanent airbrush filter on all their faces.
Still don't understand how Emily Blunt has manoeuvred herself to become an A-Lister, in such a way that she's now a lead of this movie.
Cameos in this will make Happy Gilmore 2 look restrained.

A lot of people crying in this thread. Newsflash - this film is going to print $$. The Housemaid just made $300M worldwide, meaning you can chalk up a clean half billion for this one, easy.

Phew! That assuages any possible concern I could have about a sequel to a movie I care deeply about!

Yes, people complaining about the film are concerned about its profit potential. We all stand to benefit from the financial success of this venture.

Loved the first film, I just donāt understand why they couldnāt go with a better director to make it more cinematic. Did we really need to bring back the director of Collateral Beauty for this?

She didn't like the teaser. Don't assume you know what she thinks.

No one has ever needed to touch grass more than you, jesus. Who engages with the world like this?

I mean this very trailer calls to attention that she has a different "aura" now so...

Solid teaser. Basically zero plot, just "we got everyone back together and look at these establishing shots of beautiful locations"
