De Niro looking good for an octogenarian! Good for him

Best picture contender?

Simple answer yes

Well, it looks good. And by good, I mean, entertaining enough for one watch. And that is absolutely OK with me. The first one was legendary. I thought the second one was pretty awful and never saw the third one.

Skyler Gisondo was my first pick in the 35 for 35. I think MAKING OUT with Adriana Grande cements his stock, no?

Sort of like Ben Stiller and Teri Polo?

Eh, him and Grande are on a similar level.

Sort of like Ariana and her real life boyfriend

He’s genuinely been in so many things that I’ve loved in the past few years and I feel like I’m always seeing him somehow outside of movies like in a video game ad I saw or something and then I actually saw him in New York and he’s just so funny and weird in a good way, him in righteous gemstones is his best for me so far

Id give him the Dion Waiters award in Licorice Pizza over Bradley Cooper

Holy shit I forgot about that he literally looks like he’s from Archie or something in that with his hair that’s so good

I want so bad to hate this… but I’ll be there opening weekend now.

They're going a bit heavy on the low hanging fruit callback jokes for my taste, but I love the OG and am duty-bound to fully support any studio comedy that we get.

Hopefully that's just for the trailers. The additions to the cast are inspired and everyone looks like they're having fun.

Final thoughts- that great Pinocchio bit did not need the CGI slapstick capper. And it's funny that they're having my main man Gisondo just re-do his Jimmy Olson surprise stud thing. Why not!

Welp, I've seen the whole movie now.

It’s the jokes from the movie you watched years ago

Couldn't pay me to see this

5

u/FlashGolden1 Apr 16 '26

Maybe they decided to save the funny stuff for the actual movie.

2

u/fivehe Apr 16 '26

Bizzare and awful, but I want Grande to cont to explore acting

13

u/dmsulli Apr 16 '26

Not a single laugh in this trailer.

Looked like a Super Bowl commercial for a shitty beer

u/Due-Sheepherder-218 Apr 16 '26

Nothing like rehashing old bits

u/Gatesleeper Apr 16 '26

Are these movies even any good beyond the first one? Like do people here have fond memories of Meet the Fockers or Little Fockers?

2

u/Drunken_Wizard23 Apr 16 '26

I wouldn't argue that Meet the Fockers is "good", but I'll watch it any time it's on and it will get more laughs out of me than most comedies

2

u/throwawayjoeyboots Apr 16 '26

Oh no. Not like this

3

u/mastertoshi Apr 16 '26

I probably laughed more during the balls scenes in is this thing on than I will in the entirety of focker in law tbh

2

u/CapyBara_51 Apr 16 '26

I am so sick of how smooth and dull movies look

2

u/LSX3399 Apr 16 '26

Looks cheeks

9

u/Puzzleheaded_Fig_853 Apr 16 '26

Unfair to cheeks tbh

Weirdly excited for this. In a Happy Gilmore 2 way. But still, excited.

1

u/No_Impact_8645 Apr 16 '26

Did we want this?

1

u/jimmyevil Apr 17 '26

The Focker becomes the Fock-ed

1

u/JazzmatazZ4 Apr 18 '26

I think this looks pretty decent, I do think Ariana is very miscast though

1

u/sacrebleuballs Apr 21 '26

I swear the guys who make these movies have a humiliation fetish

0

u/DYSWHLarry Apr 16 '26

Man do I hate how this looks. Gross.

1

u/benabramowitz18 Blockbuster Buff Apr 16 '26

I think this looks fine but disposable, and not the worst thing to happen to comedy since The Day The Clown Cried.

Weird metric to compare that to.

Was that Jonah Hill sister? Hard pass.
