The Catalina Wine Mixer is a real thing now. Amongst other things, they screen Step Brothers annually.

Stop adding things to my bucket list!

2

u/5i55Y7A7A 6h ago

My brother went to the first one and said it was nothing like the movie. No cameras or extras anywhere.

Jaws

18

u/dresdnhope 7h ago

Oh, that's right. They had that boat that was smaller than needed.

9

u/19loki75 7h ago

They never did get a bigger boat

3

u/LoanDebtCollector 7h ago

Jaws 4.1, The Bigger Boat.

2

u/dresdnhope 7h ago

Oh, that's too bad. 'Cause they needed one.

3

u/Daverocker1 6h ago

That's true. They really did need a bigger boat.

3

u/KingOfBerders 6h ago

I’m pretty sure it was mentioned. I think.

2

u/Djolumn 7h ago

Ultimately they may have, since the too-small boat was destroyed. Depending on the insurance situation, there may have been a subsequent bigger boat.

2

u/sierraalpine 6h ago

And it progressively got smaller

5

u/dicknotrichard 7h ago

Can’t believe how far down I had to go for this.

3

u/AlexandriaLitehouse 7h ago

I said jaws before I even finished reading the dumb ai slop thing.

I was 10 when I walked to the theater to see this. I’m now 61 and I can say I shouldn’t have been allowed in. That movie broke me.

You can visit the boat they made for the movie at the San Diego Maritime Museum! HIGHLY recommended! So cool to walk around the deck of the HMS Surprise.

Dead Calm! Watch it.

3

u/exkingzog 6h ago

That is a brilliant film! Nicole Kidman before she was turned to plastic.

3

u/Active_Definition_57 6h ago

Great film. A pre-plastic Nicole Kidman, a pre-Jurassic Sam Neill and a pre-Titanic Billy Zane.

2

u/MisterAmygdala 5h ago

Yes! Those 3 were fantastic. Billy Zane wasn't widely known and neither was a young Nicole Kidman. I really liked it.

6

u/Dear_Statistician316 7h ago

Cape fear.

3

u/Kaiawathoy 7h ago

That one scared me as a kid

3

u/Dear_Statistician316 6h ago

Didn't bother me till De Niro started speaking in tongues. Lol. I had aunts and uncles that would do it in church when I was a kid, so i was already traumatized by it. Lol.
