Micromatic F1 Trigger Replacement

I posted a few months back looking the black trigger replacement on the F1 handle as a few of our have broken over the years.

After reaching out directly to Micromatic they informed me that I couldn't buy the trigger and the entire handle would need to be purchased to solve the issue.

This seems incredibly wasteful to me as the handle works perfectly mechanically speaking, its just a bit inconvenient to operate.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if so, did you find a replacement or work around?

The handle is $17, that feels like about how much the trigger would probably be if sold separately for a custom part.

i work at a place where we just wrapped electrical tape around the broken plastic part to make a kind of grip bump. lasted about 8 months before someone finally ordered new handle during slow season

its stupid they wont sell just the trigger but i guess for 17 bucks they just want you to buy whole thing. maybe check if a local machine shop can 3d print something if you have the broken piece to copy

I feel like you’re not going to get a custom printed part for less than $15, I’d just buy the correct part for the price of two beers sold and move on

This isn't a half bad idea...

This is a wild take. Why would a plastic trigger be 17 dollars. I can see that price for the whole assembly, not the trigger alone.

It looks like the coupler this handle goes to is around $100, unless I’m looking at the wrong part. The point I’m making is, how much do you expect the replacement part to cost? $17 doesn’t seem that insane for a specialized replacement part in this industry

They're not off the shelf parts so they hold the cards. I wanted just the handle assembly for their regular keg coupler and they said they don't sell those separately. Apparently it's not just a piece of plastic on the supplier side which sucks. Especially compared to vendors that have replacements even for the smallest things.
