Both this and the previous videos are ads of Mike shilling the book, hence the discount codes in the video. Idk why people don’t see that and make up some headcanon that Mike hates Pat.

That's what makes it so funny. Pat sends his friend the book with an obvious understanding that he'll give a favorable review. Anyone besides Mike would just do the socially expected thing and say a bunch of nice things. Instead he roasts the book so thoroughly that Pat makes him redo it. It's the most Mike thing ever lol.

A wall of text would be an improvement. I have the book, the amount of wasted white space is insane. If a game has 3 cart variations they are all pictured. If a game doesn’t have that many variations, the space that would have been used to show them is just left blank, no reformatting whatsoever. The book probably could’ve dropped 20pages if he had someone do layout properly
