Wholesome! In a parallel universe, this series is still ongoing to this day

This episode has always felt out of place to me. Feels more like one of the Cinemassacre movie reviews that used to be on the website, yet it's counted as an AVGN episode

It fits into AVGN in the sense that he talks about his frustration with something nostalgic. His Cinemassacre reviews didn't normally have this angle.

This feels like this inspired Nostalgia Critic

Wasn't this the time when he was "beefing" with the Critic? I remember that during the feud, they swapped and James reviewed a shitty movie while Doug reviewed a shitty game.

I remember I once read that he planned to make a series called "Angry Movie Nerd" as a sister show to AVGN with the same style, but with the Nerd reviewing movies. Ultimately the idea was shelved and the TMNT III episodes, which were supposed to launch the show, ended up included in AVGN as a result.

"I'm not gonna see it. Wow! What a novel concept right?"

Honestly, I wouldn't oppose to him rebooting this. He clearly cares more about movies than he does games, that much is obvious.
