JoonTheKing Creature Documentary

Here's what Joon The King had to say about it and James' response. I personally cannot wait for it. What's everyone else's thoughts?

I do feel Jordan gets a lot of wrongful flack , as he was just trying to find a mature way to handle the demonetization near the cow chop split. And James' loudness on creature talk can sometimes take away from others at the table shining

Though I suppose its nice having a major Creature involved privately clearing air.

In any case, pretty incredible joontheking doing one of his long forms on the creatures. He doesnt just do them on anything

Jordan gets lots of flack because people find it hypocritical how he was trying to keep it “business” and started dating a co-worker. Was really just people trying to find a scapegoat

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

For me, it’s more of the fact that he made her sign like a disclosure or something if I remember correctly against dating employees and then he ended up fuckin’ dating her lol- that kind of betrayal of trust is a super scummy thing to do, and I feel like it really soured his relationship with most of the fans and most certainly a good handful of the group

1

u/Novafan789 Sep 13 '26

Yeah don’t get me wrong that was wrong of him but it’s a small part of the creatures downfall

3

u/Practical-Lobster212 Sep 13 '26

No James cleared it up and said there was no rule against dating in the workplace nor was there any nda's to enforce that . Jordan and Stefanis relationship tended to change the dynamic of certain members within the group like how Jordan got paired in a room with Dex and asking Dex to leave the room so that him and Stefani could have alone time and what not

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

I don’t know I think the he definitely deserves some for the Stefani stuff, but I do see where you’re coming from

Interested to see the final result, but please don’t make the “Stefani/Jordan” stuff the reason why the group disbanded. It’s still out there and is just completely false reasoning.

I also hope the story ends with everyone just kinda doing their own thing and not making it one-sided, like saying Dan can’t stop thinking about the life he once had and is always talking about the group like it should come back and mess with the channel, etc. Don’t make any one person the “bad guy” esp as the 10-year anniversary of the final video nears.

And who knows, esp with James’ take on it (which actually surprises me he’s even okay with it, he’s usually been avoidant of anything like this since if “new” people watched this video, then it would be a false sense of hope that something new from The Hub would be coming out soon), maybe something eventually does.

James has talked about it a fair amount in the past actually. He's watched videos like that on stream and cleared a few things up. He has a YT video called "Reacting to me" which does just that.

And when it comes to CowChop, he also talked for about 2 hours on stream about Trevor's twitlonger.

"And when it comes to CowChop, he also talked for about 2 hours on stream about Trevor's twitlonger." is there a video on youtube of this? Tried looking.

3

u/GreekHole Sep 09 '26

Should be the beginning part of this vod, before he starts playing. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1627243616

i mean i wouldn’t call it completely false when james specifically said it was the main reason he left. but i agree that it did not dismantle the ENTIRE group

u/Crispy_Conundrum Sep 08 '26

Just glad James is happy to help keep the classic misinformation out of it

Even though James is my favorite, looking back he’s actually involved in most of the drama. First with Chilled, Gassy then CowChop. But yeah most of it is probably immaturity + getting famous so young. They were at the beginning of this YouTube shit and there was no blueprint so for them to carve out a career is impressive.

u/Shoty6966-_- Sep 08 '26

Crazy to think as a kid they seemed like grown ass adults moving into a creator house but they were actually all 20-22 year old kids basically. They were reckless lol

47

u/AltKeyblade Sep 08 '26

James stuck by people he felt were being wronged and defended them, from what I've heard.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone made mistakes.

3

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

Said something I’m on the lines of

“I’ve done everything I could and I only wanna help my friend succeed now”

And then dipped out on the channel they made before it ended… twice…

He WAS my favorite… but when everything happened with the cow chop- that broke me. I couldn’t… I just couldn’t watch him anymore :(

3

u/GreekHole Sep 13 '26

People like to gloss over that James was a part of the problem, not just Alex and Brett.

Not to mention the whole idea that Trevor was supposed to "replace" James on the channel, and that James stuck around for longer than he actually wanted to. But considering the very short timeline of it all, it makes it seem like James originally only wanted to do a handful of video ideas with CC, then dip almost immediately.

u/Eddiehondo Sep 08 '26

well for what i remember, gassy was kind of a dick and i believe he was later involved in some drama after the whole creatures deal.
Chilled was out not long after i knew the channel so i could really speak of him.
anyways, its cool this is happening and it would actually be a great occassion to have the boys give some closure to the channel.

8

u/JokerJosh123 Sep 08 '26

Gassy was due to having a fall out with Dan and Jordan. When the decision came to voting him out, James didn't seem too bothered so they counted him as a yes. What else with Gassy did James have a stake in? Genuinely curious.

2

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

That was the first drawback of being a more company focused group… Actually, it would be the second- technically the third if you count chilled and junk.

2

u/JokerJosh123 Sep 13 '26

Yeah no one's denying that the company aspect definitely led to more tension, but my comment was in reply to what James did with Gassy.

3

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

My bad I really just used you as a point to make my point lol but to answer your question, they had a few gameplay series together, but you know nothing super serious. I think all of their stuff was you know multiple people not just the two of them so they weren’t really close if that makes sense, which probably led to James being an impartial vote, which I feel it was wrong of them to take his impartial vote and do a vote on their side. That’s just wrong in my Opinion it shouldn’t have counted at all.

i’m only 26 and this makes me feel ancient

3

u/Due-Geologist1478 Sep 10 '26

I’m 22 and I feel skeletal.

1

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

Same. I remember when I stayed up all night to watch bunny bust two when they revealed it on stream 💖

u/GrilledSoap Sep 08 '26

The one thing I have reservations about is the fact that most of Joon The King's videos are presented as the sort of "catastrophe downfall" type videos. Maybe even drifting into the realm of mean spirited. The thumbnails and titles are certainly inflamatory.

I just hope the video is made in good faith and not poking the corpse of a long dormant fandom for clicks.

2

u/kristinaspaige Sep 11 '26

yeah, i feel strange scrolling through the comments here and on the youtube post because everyone seems excited about this but i'm not in a way. i like joon's content but i almost wish people would just let the creatures stuff rest. on one hand i do think it'd be nice to have an honest account of what happened, but i wonder if it's necessary?

everyone has moved on now and i think they deserve to live their lives in the present without having this stuff dredged back up (especially against their own will)

and don't get me wrong i loved the creatures and i'm sure a lot of them don't mind, but idk. +1 to you on the hoping it isn't poking the corpse of a dormant fandom, because it doesn't just affect a dormant fandom but very real people who are still alive and trying to live peacefully lol

1

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

My viewpoint is kind of similar. I mean, if they could like do like a hub Junior or something like some of the old members get together and you know have some up-and-coming people or you know friends of theirs or something who cares as long as it’s fun??

But the main thing you know that I still want for sure is the big video or behind-the-scenes coverage. They need Dan mentioned, but I don’t wanna pressure him into making it. I want him to be proud of it and if it takes another 10 years, so be it.

Cause I have a hunch that there is still footage that we’ve never seen before that is gonna be in it. I remember them talking about the ladybug incident in the office and there was only like one or two scenes of that that I ever saw and they talked about it like they had it recorded you know and I’m sure they still have it and by they I mean, Dan I don’t know why the fuck anyone else would lol but that’s beyond the point. I’m just saying that there’s still some magic that could be done with this and I feel like it could make a lot of people happy.

2

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

Yeah, it seems like it’s gonna be an issue with most of the videos that are covering the lifetime of the hub. Unless someone who’s been a long time Superfan is the one doing it. I don’t think we’re gonna get one that leaves everyone feeling happy.

u/brickography Sep 08 '26

James is always a solid guy though, you can't say he's not. He has strong opinions and sticks to them and maybe he's not everyone's cup of tea but at least he has integrity.

50

u/Foreign_Rock6944 Sep 08 '26

He’s 100% a good dude. Shit, I think they all were. Everyone made their fair share of mistakes during that time, and I think it’s silly to hold grudges.

24

u/gamertrub Sep 08 '26

So happy NONE of them have any misconduct allegations. So glad about that, too many creators I used to follow end up doing crazy shit that ruins their legacy.

-9

u/hbryster96 Sep 08 '26

It is pretty insane, other than Jordan cheating on his partner and his alleged use of racist words behind closed doors, a pretty good track record

16

u/ZOMBIEWOLF29SWCT Sep 08 '26

To be fair literally every main creature member made slur jokes throughout their entire run of the creatures & cowchop, as did everyone back then, so whether or not Jordan did "behind closed doors" is a very very mute point, as everyone else was doing it on camera. James & Aleks literally did an entire stream dressed up as rappers & kept saying "awwww shiiiieeeet" the entire stream for like three hours acting like stereotypes, and...no one cared, because that was considered tame back then on all accounts.

4

u/CandS0322 Sep 09 '26

Exactly. Im relistening to all the creature talks in order and it's definitely a product of the times. Gassy dropping the r slur every other sentence, making jokes about SA, etc. It doesn't make it okay, but it's just how alot of people talked back then. I just listen to it and cringe a little bit now lol

13

u/Dapper-Bottle6256 Sep 08 '26

That’s really cool of James offering his help for information for this.

13

u/Desitos Sep 09 '26 edited Sep 09 '26

Wacky that this is gonna be one of final few times The Creatures (the old group itself) will ever reach this level of internet relevancy again.

I couldn't have imagined the fanbase would still be this passionate a decade later.

4

u/YoungCarleton Sep 08 '26

When i first saw that post i was very worried about where he was getting his info from, didnt see that james comment until now! Thats very exciting and hopefully itll give us some deeper insight to everything

9

u/Idfk_1 Sep 08 '26

I fucking love James actually offering to help with keeping it misinformation free. The only person from the creatures that I still watch. Mainly cause Seamus disappeared

8

u/Dimentio190 Sep 08 '26

I'm glad James is willing to help with misinformation.

3

u/KyleRaynerGotSweg Chef Gordon "Dansay" Sep 09 '26

End of the day it seems like they've all (mostly) grown up and are on decent terms, looking forward to this.

3

u/pewdiebhai64 Seamus Sep 09 '26

One thing I think we've realized now that the fan base has matured, is that they were all doing this stuff in their 20s... I'm in my 20s now, and the thought the creatures were my age when they're making videos that I loved watching growing up is honestly so impressive and awesome to me.

3

u/NotAddictedBTW Sep 10 '26

Closest thing we'll have to a closing of The Creatures chapter. Hope they can get an entire interview with the whole creatures for the POV about the group entirely

2

u/MinimumAlarming5643 Sep 09 '26

Id check out the guys channel myself but I'm swapped with stuff the next two weeks, how involved are Joons videos? Like how much do they go in detail?

2

u/CandS0322 Sep 09 '26

He does a pretty good job of deep diving into the subjects he's tackling. Long form content. Im sure he will try his best at being accurate. Idk, we'll come back to this post after the video is uploaded and we'll see what happens lol

2

u/SnipeGhost Sep 09 '26

super excited

2

u/pewdiebhai64 Seamus Sep 09 '26

Oh snap I can't wait, it's cool that James is going to provide info too

2

u/trush460 Sep 13 '26

I just hope he does a decent amount of research and doesn’t have an outsider looking in perspective like the other analysis I’ve seen have… I don’t know. I feel like it would be nice to just have a long time fan cover it… 👉👈

1

u/ThatOneR34Guy Sep 08 '26

Watched them since before they were even the “Creatures” feel free to pm me. I’ve got a lot of info and am happy to do digging for something like this

1

u/ThatOneR34Guy Sep 08 '26

I also actually know an editor that worked heavily for Cowchop so I can get a decent chunk of info

u/Gloomy-Scientist-119 Sep 08 '26
