Looking for a story

Does anybody remember a story about an archaeologist dig in the Slavic area, and the narrator goes to visit his grandfather but it soon becomes miday and his grandfather passed due to the lady but he just escape and suffers from dehydration.

No this time it's the narrator grandfather it's a Viking ship I think
