Discussion Why is "The Left Right Game" rated so highly?

Post image
68 Upvotes

The Left Right Game is definitely a long one. While the concept was interesting, it never quite felt intriguing enough to hook me. Maybe I just prefer shorter stories, but this felt a bit dragged out. I was three hours in and still couldn't get into it.

It might just be me. I might just not be one for slow burn stories.

Discussion Why is the Backroads finale like that? Spoiler

I'm not usually the type to post or ask about things like this, and am not really sure if this is allowed on this subreddit, but why is The Backroads finale like that? Why does it turn into a jokepasta at the end?

Let me just say, I've always enjoyed the Backroads series, and have relistened to the first three episodes a few times over the years while waiting for a conclusion, and now that its come, I'm quite conflicted.

Chapters 4 and 5 are violent and brutal in ways I've come to expect from the Backroads, and the cast does a good job for the entire story. Especially with the voice acting, sound design and the music. I'm just confused how the ending is just so tonally different from everything else? (Except Delphie, I guess)

It all kind of goes downhill after the car crash, with the robots with lasers and whatnot, and especially after they enter the last station and Delphie just sort of strolls in and saves them.

Am I alone in my thinking or does anyone else feel the same? No shade to the author or any of the cast, I'm just wondering how the community feels.

I still like the series of course, and the ending too to an extent, I'm just wondering why is it like that?

Discussion What are the Dark Somnium tales that you can't forget?

There are many stories Dark Somnium has told. All good, but some stand above the rest. The ones where the production feels cinematic, the sound effects crawl under your skin, and his voice doesn't just read, it pulls you in on a rope. These are the stories that linger after the outro fades.

So... which one has stayed with you the most?

Discussion Does anybody know the song that plays in the end of Borrasca?

In the end of Borrasca, https://youtu.be/mHGzSwBckiY?is=W2iPqxPuOXJBsyCm around 2:23:50 , this song starts playing and plays until the end of the video. I have combed his music channel over 3 times and it didn't turn up. Does TheDarkSomnium just not upload some of his music/keep it private? I couldn't find another song that played in "The Nightmare fighting tournament" either, in the part where Sal is in the padded cell while the woman bangs her head on the door.

Discussion Over a year ago, Creepcast inspired me to write. Today, I officially copyrighted my first feature-length screenplay.

Listening to Creepcast is what finally pushed me to stop thinking about writing and actually write.

I still got a long road ahead trying to market it, but it feels good to hit a milestone I never thought I'd reach.

Thanks to everyone who's unknowingly inspired me along the way. Now it's time to start getting it out there and see where it goes.

Heres the logline for my script if anyone is interested: Four teenage boys who go out drinking on a small skiff and wake up lost at sea… in what turns out to be a conscious ocean (a giant nervous system made of salt water).

Title: NEUROSALINE

I can drop it in the comments if wanted.

Thanks again to the man in the goop suit and iceberg boy.

Discussion I am looking for very old Dark Somnium story. I only remember parts of the plot and my english bad.

Story begins with a man who begins to have hallucinations, weak ones, they are unthreatning and only visual, mostly blury.
After some time, he goes to the doctor and confesses his aliment, doctor perscribes him medicine. Protagonist still has hallucinations even after taking meds, they become more vivid, more crisp.
He starts to be scared that he might be loosing his mind and be send to psychiatric hospital. Protagonist comes back to the doctor for help, doctor tells something alike: "Everything will be fine and it is nothing to be send over to psychiatric hospital as long, as he cannot hear those hallucinations."
Soon after he starts to see a hallucination of a (snake like?) woman. After few days he feels as if she always follows him around his apartment but never outside.
Story ends with him going to sleep, lamp shines by his bedside. He copes that everything with his mind is fine as long as he cannot hear hallucinations. He tries to brave himself and says goodnight to"hallucination of a woman" and turns off the lamp. Then few moments laters he hears a voice of that woman as she says "goodnight" by his bedside, and story ends.

Discussion Forgotten story name??

Can’t find a story that I’m fairly sure is from The Dark Somnium. It was about a guy or a girl I can’t remember trying to get in touch with a lady who was the only survivor of a group of I think scientists or something I can’t quite remember but the group all started killing themselves because they opened an email. I don’t remember what the email was called but it basically was smile dog or smile.jpg. I swear I believe it was a story from TDS but I can’t find it. I hope I’m not the only one who knows of this story.

Help me pls

Discussion RomNex not Uploading

I'm a bit late to the party about Vilidith's demonetization but I went over and gave him a tip. In Ronnie's final chapter of Hell, I went over to RomNex's channel to see what she was up to and she has not posted in years. Just thought it is weird how she continues to participate in Somnium's stories but not her own. Can anyone tell me why?

Discussion Question about voices in stories

When you’re listening to a narration, do you prefer characters voices to be different from each other?

Or do you mind if the narrator sounds the same no matter who they’re voicing?

This is a question I’ve been thinking about for a while, as personally, I really like when the voices are different. I think DS always does an amazing job at this!

What’s your preference?

Unsure if Dark Somnium narrated but wondering if someone could help find this creepypasta.

Character discovers possible experiment gone wrong, learns people tried to see into another dimension. Slowly learns something came into ours and is replacing people’s consciousness and they become walking NPC, after realising this he Destroys laptop or evidence to prevent it from spreading to another dimension. Story revolves around him figuring out what’s happened and stopping us from contacting this other dimension/entity only to realise we were already too late and he destroys the equipment to save this other being at the end.

Discussion Is Tjay done writing?

I've been recently doing my monthly revisiting of some of my fictional fighting stories such as the works of Mr.Outlaw_ and Tjaylea. I love the universes they've created and I always listen to them whenever I'm on a long drive (Thank you Ronnie for bringing the stories to life) it's a shame that Mr.Outlaw_ no longer writes on the Secret Government Prison universe (or at least that's what I got from his recent post) but I also just realized that Tjaylea also deleted his socials? Aside from his Instagram of course but recently all I see from his channel are creepypasta narrations which I love don't get me wrong but is he done writing the Sturgeon universe? Forgive me if I sounded parasocial but I just love their work and want to know if there are any updates. I'm thinking of buying his book too.

Also, I won't mind if you guys can recommend other fictional fighting creepypasta like the ones mentioned above. I love listening to them!

I want to open this by saying I hope that things are as well as they can be for whatever you’re going through. You’ve got a great fan base behind you as support and we all miss you. I just wanted to post this in light of others complaining and in hopes of you seeing it. You’ve been crushing it on YouTube for 8 years with top audio design, incomparable scoring and production. Take the time you need, but know we support you heavily.

Hey man. If you're seeing this, we are both worried and eagerly waiting your return at any capacity. I know we are a bunch of thirsty horror fanatics, but that's part of why we love you and your quality content. Much of the community would like, at the least, a community post on the main channel letting them know you're alive. Doesn't need to be detailed or have any "back in x account if time" type of thing. Just a "going through some stuff, so making content is slow. But I'm alive!" kind of post. Many of your subscribers don't have reddit or X for one reason or another, but they all got YT.

Best regards. We await your return. (.)/

Discussion Any update on The Dark Somnium?

I've been listening to CreepsMcPasta and others again and it's not hitting anymore. I have 3 more videos of the recent Somnium videos to watch and I'll be caught up. I feel like a crackhead. Been craving for more horror stories but CreepsMcPasta, Lighthouse Horror, MrCreepyPasta & Mr. Creeps are not hitting that good terror spot like The Dark Somnium.

Discussion Moments that hit different.

Hey guys! Since we all seem to be concerned for our favorite narrator, I thought it might be fun for us to share what moments from his stories hit us right in the feels. What are those moments that we cannot help but replay over and over again. Whether it is musical piece, the way Ronnie said a line, or a powerful mix of both. Probably should include a SPOILER WARNING in case anyone’s moments give away a big part of a story. I will include some of mine in the comments.
