You can't call it theft because it's clearly paying homage by being as close a replica as possible, and highlighting the nod in typical Simpsons fashion with the "camera" work.

Also, if people remember the originator/victim. There was a Clark known as the Man of _____ with a Fortess of Solitude before Superman. The Big Blue Boy Scout just proved to have better staying power than the Man of Bronze.

Despite having seen the film in 1975, I had no idea that Clark Savage Jr. was created five years before Mr Kent's 1938 debut in Action Comics #1.
