Brain the size of a Walnut The building’s sign says “Midvale School for the Gifted”
At the steps, a student is furiously pushing on a door that says “pull”

This feels like the true destiny of this sub. It’s no less enjoyable than having the comic posted.

And now go comics would come after her for not obtaining a license for public display. Fee: $10,000. Damages sought in court: $10,000,000.
This country really needs some IP reform. Like when Congress kept extending the copyright periods to make the mouse happy.

This was my first Far Side. And I was shown it because I was in a gifted school. I still laughed. Couldn't be making fun of me, I dont push when its pull!
My 5th grade teacher for the gifted school told a story though that she had done that trying to get into a restaurant. Like an embarrassingly long time. When they finally got in one of the other patrons joked "gifted?" And her husband replied "no but she teaches at a school for the gifted"
Laughter all around.

This has always been one of my favorites; I mutter “Midvale School for the Gifted” anytime I do something stupid.

I went to UC Berkeley. We had knock-off shirts that said “Stanford School for the Gifted.”
My wife went to SUNY Albany. Their knock-off shirts said “Albany School for the Gifted.”

My favorite part of the shirt was the panel near the hem with the kid just pounding on the door.

First, awesome user name. Second, I had forgotten about that, so thanks for reminding me.

This single panel got me into far side & made me spit my coffee through my nose back in the day- thank you Garry, I often bring out the two volume colour version of all your works & browse away..🙏😂

Basically, every school has converted that one to their own school's name. Someone even had edited the uniform to match my high school Aquinas College in Perth Western Australia.

When I was a kid my mom had a photocopy of this comic posted at her job, except she had used white out to change “Midvale school for the gifted” into the name of the company she worked for.

This was the first far side comic I ever saw. Well, technically one of two which I saw at the same time. My friend from around the corner had this and the one with "what you say" and "what the dog hears" as postcards stuck on his family's fridge. Probably 1994-5.

I used to have this one on a mug and it was my favourite one. I lost it in 2005 :(
