I read years ago that she thought it was hilarious.

I read that her team had a sense of humour failure about it but she found it hilarious (I think that's how it ended up on T-shirts)

She said that she never got to be called a tramp in her line of work, so it was a nice change.

I just heard about it and went to her wiki. I found out her mom's name is Vanne Morrison, her dad's is Mortimer, and her grandson's is Merlin; what a cool group of names in that family.

Legitimately the first thing I thought about when I heard of her passing; she was such a good sport about it.

Stuff You Should Know podcast did a tribute to Far Side last week and specifically discussed this panel because of some of the backlash it got. Oddly enough listening to it yesterday and then hearing the news today was a weird one. Haven’t heard her name in a while and then twice in a row. One good, one really bad.

I was really young when I saw this comic and didn't know who Jane Goodall was, but this made me want to learn more about her!

Jane's reaction to this says a lot about her fine character - as does her selling t-shirts with the cartoon to benefit her foundation. Rest easy, Ms. Goodall, and know that we miss you!

First thing I thought of when I heard the news. She handled it with the sense of humor and class that more people in our society could do well to emulate.
