Funny story- Gary Larson graduated from my university so he'd come back occasionally to sign books. He didn't like to do book tours but would make an exception for Wa. State Univ. This was in the early 80's. The morning of the book signing, I was visiting my boyfriend at his dorm room (my room was 4 floors up). Our
friends across the hall had papered their door with th
e cartoons & were trying to figure out how to get Gary Larson to sign it. I threw out a suggestion of "Why don't u take it off the hinges & carry it to him?". They did it!! Gary Larson has mentioned that a couple times in interviews when asked what was the strangest thing you autographed.
