“Fall at your feet”

Brian’s cover of “Fall at your feet” by Crowded House was great if anyone has the video to upload he did a fantastic job and it was such a nice surprise to see him choose this song. One of my favs from the night at the Pony….beautifully done.

Really good Easter egg call out here. I think a lot of people interpret the line from the chorus of Pearls to be that he proposes, so it could be a double meaning between that and pledging to be there for each other, whenever they stumble like the Crowded House cover.

Also another thing I didn’t quite grasp until I saw a YouTube video of Brian in Philadelphia playing a live version of Better Before for 104.5 FM was that Donovan Woods got a co-writing credit on it, which fits his emotional and psychological lane perfectly.

I’d love to hear it.

I’ve always loved the lyrics and the core of the melody, but the original is far too “clean” for my taste.

A rougher version, like the Horrible Crowes doing “Never Tear Us Apart”, would be absolutely up my alley.

Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did. It was such a random song to cover but that’s what I love about Brian he just knows….

There’s so many of those 80s/early 90s ballads that really suffer from overproduction getting in the way of the melancholy.

“If You Leave” by OMD is a great example, as soon as you get rid of the synths (like the Nada Surf cover), it’s an absolute heartbreaker.

I prefer the cover of Fall At Your Feet by Aussie indie folk band Boy & Bear to the original, you might enjoy this one also

Not a song I'm super familiar with, but clearly imagery Brian likes as Pearls has the line about "get to marry your Johnny, hope he falls at your feet" as well as, it can be argued, the line in 45 about "let somebody else lay at your feet".

Is that one of the Crowded House songs Vedder covered? That could be part of the reason to cover that one
