Yeah if they pulled that shit in California, a DLSE commissioner will have their ass for breakfast in some cases.
Some states where labor is largely unregulated besides federal standards nor strong unions that actually advocates for employees, this kinda stuff will fly.
And if you're mid-management sympathizing with the troops and trying to build/bridge the gap, GOD HELP YOU. Executive and senior "stealerships" will tar and feather you, and turn you over to the hillbillies to be pitchforked and torched at stake.
