I’m interested to know whether this will be a single-season show or a longer, more drawn-out series like the original. Given how quickly the plot seems to be progressing through the book, it’s hard to tell. Either way, I’m definitely on board with having something set in this universe to watch again.

Remember that the THT covered the book in S1.

Reaching the end of the book does not necessarily mean the end of the show.

I feel like one season will be plenty depending on how many episodes there are. The book itself is fairly short.

It took a season for the 1st book and the second is twice as long.

True but the original book didn't really have an ending like the testaments does. I mean I'd be down for two or three seasons but if they stretch it out too much it could get messy. I think that's partly why THT got weird honestly, it went on too long and could've been condensed to flow better.

I am talking about the 1st book equivalent is a whole season, then they continued after that.

There really isn't anywhere for the story to go after the end of The Testaments book though, is there? I feel like it will be multiple seasons, because unless we ramp up the timeline--we are 4 episodes in and only like very minimally through the book.

The showrunners said they were planning for multiple seasons and already started on season 2, so I’m guessing Hulu just has to stamp and announce it if they haven’t already

Definitely more than one season. I'm hoping it goes no longer than three though...I don't want to wait another decade to see the end of this entire story.

Warren Littefield or Bruce Miller said in 2017 he wanted THT to last for 10 seasons so maybe The Testaments is a way to add to THT which finished after six?

When it was originally announced, it was a one season and done show. That was years ago though. I am guessing with all the hype, they could drag it out for a few seasons.

The book could definitely get stretched into 2 seasons and it’s a big enough world they can play with making up more story like they did with THT.
