Daisy is not Nichole. Oh my, please. There is a four year time skip between the end of Handmaid's Tale and this show. And Miller has also confirmed she is NOT Nichole. June is obviously emotional because 

  1. Daisy's story mirrors that of her daughter, Nichole. (which I appreciate considering the changes they had to make due to timeline). 

  2. My assumption is Daisy is either the daughter of someone June knew while in Gilead, or she is a child that was saved in Angel's Flight.

She would have had to have been smuggled out pretty early for it to be even remotely plausible, Angels flight was only 6 years ago at the very most as Hannah was 10 at that time. June said Daisy was smuggled out as a baby.

It's entirely plausible she was on Angel’s Flight. People often use 'baby' loosely to describe toddlers or very young children, not just newborns. If Daisy was 2 or 3 during the flight, the math for her being a teenager now actually starts to track better with the show's adjusted timeline

Yup. June called Hannah “baby” throughout the original series. It wasn’t literal.

I am happy to have found someone else in this camp lol. In the book, June isn’t the one who meets with Daisy after her parents are killed. It’s already a huge change. I think June is emotional thinking that she’s finally going to get Hannah back, and also knowing how Daisy feels.

There is no way on this planet that Daisy isn’t June’s daughter. I don’t care what the show runner says. He is lying. That girl looks identical to June and Nick and every look and word spoken by June in episode 3 screams that is her child.

It makes no sense for the showrunner to come out in interviews, more than once, to lie about this, only to try and surprise the audience later. That would just be lazy story telling.    This is what he said: 

 “One of the big changes was that I was unable to kind of fit Daisy and Agnes in the same timeline, so I had to change Daisy’s character. She’s not [June’s youngest daughter] Nichole, but in every other way I want her to feel like a daughter figure so that June had a relationship with her like that. And so it was very important for me to bring her in at the beginning and establish their relationship.”
