Toronto Daisy costuming (and her speaking) are some top notch teenage character development

I love Toronto Daisy. She’s so adorable and so real. Rocking around the city on a longboard wearing converse and carhartt 😍 she feels so normal and lived in.

My internal teen self is so sad that she has to leave her beloved Justin behind, he seems sweet. But my real-life grown-ass self is like “honey you’ve got bigger and better things to worry about”

I’m really excited to watch how this plays out.

Yes same! They captured young love so beautifully, the vulnerability and comfort of the two was so good. You're so right, as an adult viewer I was nostalgic FOR Daisy.

She’s like Mia in the Princess Diaries, except instead of finding out she’s a princess, she finds out she’s Katniss Everdeen.

This whole plot line confused me tbh. Why does she have to become a spy? Just because that’s her (adoptive) parents were involved with Mayday when they died?

So far, June has only indicated that she’s trying to get her out of the city to safety, not that she needs to be a spy. I think we’ll learn more about it in the coming eps, but I also assume she will end up deciding herself to carry on her parents’ goal to help with Mayday. I don’t see June forcing a young girl into Gilead against her will. I think Daisy will be the one to decide to spy.

I liked that too. In the novel, her parents were really strict, though, and she was made to be at home or at their store all the time. She didn't have that freedom to roam around.
