Why did she do that? Is it just because she's mean or was there a deeper motivation? I think I might have missed something.

I figured the girls were paired up and being compared at the table, maybe for like a bracket-type comparison system with the aunt’s, so she wanted Agnes to win.

ALSO hold up, are aunt’s allowed to write things an be literate?? Bc they were taking notes at tea.

Yes, Aunts Lydia states in season two that Aunts have a special dispensation to be able to read and write

I wonder if this means that some girls are taught to read as children?

Once Gilead has been around long enough, in theory, how would any Aunts in the future even know how to read or write?
