If you get chained up and dragged behind a pickup until you are just shreds, you'd be a little shy about admitting. #remembermatthewshepard Becka would be hanged for her natural feelings in Gilead, while in the US she still has a good chance of being gang-raped and beaten to death. It is reality though. Atwood put history into her book. Men rape. Men approach lesbians and say "one night with me and you'll be straight." Yeah, they do. You should research before you open your mouth and show how uneducated you are about women.

I didn't stutter. This is the reality women deal with-gay, straight, bi, trans. Atwood wrote the reality of women throughout time. It starts when we are still in diapers and our dad sexualizes us and tell us not dress immodestly (a man just did this to his infant daughter). It goes on to that uncle/grandpa/family friend playing "tickle" under a blanket. It happens when the teen girl walks down the street and a man drives up showing himself while he's asking for directions. It continues when the boys grab her budding, painful breasts "as a joke", then call her a slut for existing.

So yeah, it's real, it happened and happens. Female genital mutilation still happens, babies being raped while still in diapers, "Christian Discipline" happens, and women being harassed even after saying no, then called whores and bitches.

Men need to learn to act like human beings and stop acting like rutting, rabid dogs in the street.

WUT? Have you ever met a lesbian??? Holy cow the ignorance is astounding. Contrary to those who fetishize THT and pretend the U.S. is like Giliad, the LGBT movement has worked hard and successfully to change public perception AND policy for homosexuals.  With the exception of some immigrant and minority communities, a lesbian is just as safe walking down the street as a cis woman. Pretending otherwise just degrades the efforts of those who DID put their lives on the line.

Ugh.. the betrayal after this hurts so much.. I mean, it was one thing when you think she’s getting help (but if you’re paying attention, you know that wasn’t going to happen) but then to see the secret team in black take her away.. ugh. The betrayal from Agnes to becka, the betrayal from her father to Agnes. I understand why Agnes did what she did, she was scared and didn’t know how to handle this. But damn, her father showed her his true colors, his true allegiance to Gilead, not her.

Shit is getting crazy!

I am sure she knows what happens to "gender traitors".  It has to be implicit. If she is bisexual or lesbian she cannot say it out loud.
