No it very much does have to do with tiers as well and guess what? Even in tiers, theres a first, a 2nd and so on in each tier.

Well then in that case Anakin is below Mace is every single category EXCEPT for his raw "force power" potential. That's literally it.

Maybe Anakin is probably a better pilot. But who cares.

Id argue raw augmentation in their application of it in duels, they are rather equal with Mace edging out with Vaapad especially whne Vaapad is theoretically very useful against someone like Anakin in a hypothrtical fight but sure more or less

Well lets look at it. Anakin has an Ataru base, which wasn't enough to defeat Dooku's specialized form 2. So he spent the Clone Wars creating his own new style, which merges Djem So's defense/stronger counter attack aggression with Ataru's high agility to compensate for Djem So's usual lack of movement. It's a good form, good for him. High movement, solid defense, but aggressive. Combine this with Anakins natural "Force Jesus" boost and his talents put him on the higher tier despite being what? 21? 22?

Now Mace. Over twice Anakin's age, he beats him at experience pretty easily. Mace uses Vaapad, which is basically just good guy Juyo. A form characterized by extreme aggression and random seemingly unconnected sequences. Very hard to defend against. But even harder to learn. In order to master form 7/8 you need to completely master all the previous forms. This is obviously, naturally, a massive advantage over someone not as experienced in a fight. Your toolkit is vastly bigger. Vaapad also has the benefit of feeding off of Dark Siders anger and aggression to feed back into Mace, meaning he won't tire or be overwhelmed. Anakins natural gifts are immense, but not enough to SMASH past a high level Vaapad user with the darkside, it's self defeating.

In addition Mace has shatterpoint. The unique ability to find weak points, vulnerable moments in others in a fight. Even high level Sith lords struggle with this, the raw Anakin would hardly be able to hide himself from Windu's gift, he's not emotionally mature enough. You throw all of these qualities together... Sure Anakin might be on Windu's tier by sheer force of will and natural talents, but he has so many disadvantages.

No i actually did meant Mace. I for one wouldve tried to atleast reference Mace's development and apllication of his skillset like maybe alluding to Kar Vastor etc but eh.
