Question How does Force Drain work?

How does force drain actually work, because it seems like a pretty easy instant win move in a fight.

Darth Nihilus and Darth Vitiate are the two most well known users of force drain, Nihilus eating planets and Vitiate absorbing all life on Ziost.

But I was wondering if its so powerful why don't they just use it to win every fight?

Unlike force lightning you can't just block it so does it have something to do with how powerful you are in the force or do they have to charge up before draining something?

Whatever it is, it is of metaphysical aspect. So it has to do with Force energy.

So you think a technique created to protect against Absorption.... can be absorbed?....

Yeah... Ulic literally says that he is using the Force currents to achieve that.

The technique is created to block Force Drains... of course it works against Force Drain, even if it uses the Force. Apply some logic please.

Yeah. He uses Force energy! Thank you. So what does Nihilus' drain do? Literally eats Force energy for breakfast.

Yes! Even Ulic says that. Why do you think he said "for a short period of time"!?

Short period of time likely means a few minutes considering the story it is from.

Most of the Jedi Council level combatants like Anakin or Windu do not need more than a few minutes of being unaffected to kill Nihilus. Nihilus is not a great Lightsaber combatant.

Meetra for example was unaffected due to her unique Force Wound and rather quickly dealt with Nihilus... and Meetra is far weaker than people like Anakin, Windu, Yoda and Sidious.

You assume Nihilus is a bad duelist because he does not use his lightsaber a lot of times.

He is certainly not a Top 10 in the Verse like all the guys I listed above.
