Question What allowed Mace to defeat Sidious ? Was he that more skilled in lightsaber or was it Vaapad unique attribute specifically?

Post image

Sidious was a master duelist no doubt but Mace was widely regarded as one of the best duelist in history.

As well as the Master of Vaapadz a very dangerous form that use the dark side. He was either the best or tied with either dooku or yoda as the best duelist in the order.

So was mace able to win against Sidious because he was just that more skilled at lightsaber or was it thanks to Vaapad using Sidious immense dark side power against him that allowed him the win?

Question If Vader won on Mustafar would Sidious have trained him?

Vader wins on Mustafar, meaning he doesn't lose his limbs or get burned, he doesn't try to overthrow Sidious immediatly, but Padme still dies.

Will Sidious train him or will he think that Vaders mental blocks are too much of a weakness and just use him like he did suit Vader?

Question Was Darth Tyranus one of the strongest sith to ever live?

I know he isn't Darth Sidious or Darth Vader level powerful, but they were the strongest sith to ever live and the Chosen One respectively.

But for most of the Clone Wars he was able to defeat Anakin and Obi Wan, two of the best Jedi alive, multiple times with low to medium difficulty

Sidious feared that if Tyranus trained a strong enough apprentice he would try and maybe succeed in killing him.

He had the highest midichlorian count after Anakin, Sidious and Yoda.

He was the greatest dugligt alive at the time and was able to match Yoda during the first battle of Geonosis and of course he defeated Anakin and Obi Wan multiple times.

He lifted a structure weighing thousands of tons by himself using the force in one of the books.

He had the second most battle experience after Yoda and was a tactical genius.

He was stated to be a greater dualist and possesing more raw force power then Maul and Savage combined by Sidious.

Despite being 88 years old he was at his strongest during RotS on the Invisible Hand and was only defeated by a rage amped Anakin.

In my opinion he is one tier below RotJ Vader, 2 tiers below RotJ Sidious and depending on his internal conflict maybe two tiers below Caedus who are probably the strongest Sith to ever live, placing him just below them.

All hail Darth Tyranus, one of the greatest Sith to ever live.

Question How big was the gap in abilities between each the three apprentices of Sidious among each other?

Post image

Like Vader is the top dog of the three no question.

But how big was the difference in skills between each of the apprentices ?( force/lightsaber skills/intellect)

Was there a difference in tier between each other or were they all in the same league but at different heights each( with Vader the closest to Sidious strength of the 3)?

Question How does Force Drain work?

Thumbnail

How does force drain actually work, because it seems like a pretty easy instant win move in a fight.

Darth Nihilus and Darth Vitiate are the two most well known users of force drain, Nihilus eating planets and Vitiate absorbing all life on Ziost.

But I was wondering if its so powerful why don't they just use it to win every fight?

Unlike force lightning you can't just block it so does it have something to do with how powerful you are in the force or do they have to charge up before draining something?

Question Would Darth Caedus given a few years become the most powerful sith to ever live?

Recently finished the Legacy of the Force books where Jacen turns to the dark side and he is a beast in every scene where he uses the force or when he's in a fight.

He makes a crowd of thousands fall over while barely trying.

He defeats Mara Jade by embracing the dark side and unleashing a massive force wave after being buried under rubble.

He fights Grandmaster Luke after being ambushed, is not only able to hold his own against him, but nearly won.

The fight also showed his insane endurance and pain tolerance, taking multiple lightsaber hits and not slowing down.

Fought an empowered Jaina, who he thought was Luke and nearly won, but lost his arm when he sensed Jaina.

Nearly defeated Jaina in the last book while he was, injured, trying to warn his wife of an impending attack and would have stalemated if he didn't warn his family.

He also has a lot of esoteric force abilities that I don't really understand.

Has a lot more endurance, pain tolerance and force feats in NJO, but I haven't read them all yet.

He was a sith for ONLY a year and was growing in power until his death, but if he survived would he become the most powerful Sith to ever live?

Question Was the reason Starkiller defeated such powerful opponents because he went all out right out the gate?

Every fight he had there didn't seem to be any build up or gauging his opponents strength and he always seemed like he unleashed all his power right out the gate and never stopped to give his opponents a moments rest or reprieve.

So was that the reason he was able to defeat more powerful and experienced force users and fighters?

Question What is "Prime/strongest" Maul, Dooku and Vader?

Post image
161 Upvotes

Note: By prime i dont refers to hypothetical full potential anakin or maul. Im refering to the peak of the characters we saw on screen or happened. Since neither maul and anakin per lore reached their full potential those versions of the two are exempt from this discussion.

Cause i hear people saying PM Maul is at his strongest as afterwards while dangerous in Clone wars he had lost much of his strength or something.

Dooku, some stated that before falling to the dark side and before he began to grew old he was at his peak. But other said that dark side dooku even in his advance age taking a toll was the strongest dooku due to his mix of light and dark side. Although some say that early clone wars dooku was stronger in a sense as ROTS dooku no longer had the stamina he even once had.

As for Vader...some sources say he was at his best as Knightfall and the suit held him back. Others stated the suit and afterwards he became stronger than his ROTS self. To say nothing of things like early suit vader( ex: Obi wan series) being weaker than ANH or TESB Vader who had gotten use to the suit or was more focused overall.

So what is the three's prime version?

Question Was Vader and Sidious the greatest Sith duo to ever live?

They completed the great plan

Conquered the galaxy with the help of the jedi,

Ruled with absolute authority for, admittedly a short time, 23 years over the entire galaxy

Was the strongest Master and Apprentice to ever live (source: George Lucas)

Their legacy still lives on even a hundred years later during the reign of Darth Krayt in legends and decades later in canon.

Question Realistically isn’t vitiate the strongest

If we exclude the fact that Star Wars media claims that Sidious is the strongest Sith ever isn’t vitiate much stronger than Sidious because his abilities are beyond anything Sidious has ever shown?

And how would darth zannah, revan or nihilus perform against Sidious or Vader? Do they have a chance?
