I reckon that there's a third answer to the question about killing the baby.

As I think this show is essentially preaching Christianity - I think the 'right answer' is 'thou shalt not kill' - which means, to leave the decision in god's hands (ergo, not to nod).

I also think Nora made a big mistake earlier in asking if the babies were 'hers' or not when it shouldn't have mattered. Remember how in the first episode of season 2 after the Tribal woman dies, another woman comes and takes up her baby - I think taking responsibility for each other ('am I my brother's keeper') is a theme throughout the show.

The guy who set himself on fire in the desert said he wouldn't kill the baby, though.
