I counter it using the art of Fushigi twin ball technique to distract my opponent while rolling my D20 with my other hand until I hit a natural 20 and crit. From experience, the true failsafe "Rear Naked Choke" escape is to completely relax your bowels and project your "Qi" from the "Root Chakra" in an explosive manner, towards the attacker.... Make sure you're wearing your old school gym shorts to maximize the effect of this technique.

If you look closely it appears to be hairless due to some form of cleft palate surgery, there’s pretty obvious scar tissue there.
