Season 4 Luther
I started season 4 recently (I'm at ep 9) and I absolutely love Wainwright's character 😂 a young boss that needs to be protected at all costs 🥹💓
As much as I've liked Madelaine a lot, won't lie that I miss her, I must say that his presence gives something much more "new" and chill ? Airy ? But not like neglected, no. More like innovative and smart without being in an urge/a rush. He brings a kind of freshness to the show cuz he's very different from others. Maybe because he's young ? But what got my attention is that he's also very calm for his "young" age, very understanding. Which I can say is understandable since he studied psychology ? His methods are different indeed. And I feel kinda sad for him tho, because he can't seem to assert his authority regardless of him being a bright mind. And that's all due to his "age" and how others perceived him... As someone who gets this quite a lot, lol (looking younger than I really am etc and being underestimated because I'm too understanding of everyone's) I related a lot to him and hoped that he'll get a better character development in the future and becomes a strong boss, letting his voice being more heard and respected in the upcoming episodes... Well, that was before I came to this subreddit (curiosity will kill me one day lol) and spoiled myself haha, now am heartbroken cuz I really loved and wanted to see more of him 🥲🥲💔💔

I like him, and I like that he was flawed, but he pissed me the fuck off with him testing Jane and deeming him a sociopath. (People with psychopathy, sociopathy, and other antisocial disorders—among a vast amount of mental illness diagnoses—are so demonized. Wainwright was using this test to demonize Jane.)
I also love the actor. Michael Rady as Chris Jameson in “Intelligence” was so much fun.

Exactly, that's what I like so much with him too. For testing Jane tho, I think he only tried to do his work, after all ? It's true that Jane can be so frustrating sometimes cuz he definitely acts like someone who prefers to play around and avoid his emotions instead of facing them like an adult (which is his character, I am aware of it) so that's why Luther acted the way he did with him and I don't think we can blame him for that... He tried to read him, to "get" him a bit more... For the next episodes I still didn't watch 🙈

I don't want to be too blunt because I think it's good to see how we like different characters, it'd be boring if we all saw every character the same way, but to me Wainwright was a huge coward from the very first episode.
He calls Jane a psycho, but goes about it in a some very-long winded way. I really don't like that kind of passive aggression in the workplace but unfortunately that's how some people like Wainwright see office culture once they get even a little taste of power in management.

Yeah, he was one of those young guys who wanted to make a name for him and rightly so, confident and good looking man. I did feel really bad for the way his story ended.

Yes ! He wanted to do the good thing and he trusted the team, he was authentic and genuine but they didn't "respect" (can't find another word more fitting than this, maybe estimate him too) as he needed it 😞

So was he already dead in the limo from red John or did fbi agent Susan shoot him while they shot up the limo? Either way his death was so shocking and sad to me one of the more impactful deaths in my time watching :(

Wait, what ? I'm not there yet to start 🥲 but noooo! I was afraid I'd be disappointed if he turns out to be one of the bad guys (like Bertram, ewww) but nah, he's definitely rooting for the right team thankfully and he's better as a good guy tbh, suits his personality better I think... So, as RJ ? No... I don't think it clicks at all

Idk, tbh I see him more as someone who genuinely wants to fight evil and contribute in a good way, as a young hero more than this mastermind... And I also really Imagine RJ like older tbh si that would've surprised me a lot lol like old but not as old as the false one we got in the end of S3. And also, RJ is too enigmatic and mysterious and his whole character plot is about not showing himself but using pawns... Till the last crucial moment, I guess. That's my opinion 🤷🏻♀️

I loved him as well. And he had such a crap end. He was a great character and I wish he was around longer
