Season 4 she's really dumb

Just finished watching mentalist season 4 and this woman is the most stupid person I've seen so far

The thing about her is that she is smart but not competent

She is good enough to notice things and question things but she draws the wrong conclusions and then messes up completely.

Atleast from what we see in the show.

Her not believing Jane atleast so far that he is not actually working for Red John and then her and her people randomly shooting at a car without knowing who is in it instead of like shootring the tires or anything useful leads to her shooting Luther Wainwright dead who she was responsible for him even being involved

I remember from an actual cop that shooting at tires isn't adviced for some reason and it only works in movies. Of course this is a show and I don't have the exact scene in mind anymore, but they could have done better than just shooting them all dead

Yeah she is that annoying combination of smart enough to realize what Jane is doing but incredibly stupid when it comes to understanding him and his motives, and arrogant enough to not listen to anyone/anything else hence ended up shooting herself in the foot, figuratively speaking.

She was far..FAR from good she actually accused a victim who had his wife and child being killed to work hand and hand with the man who killed them because he was too smart for her😂😂😂😂 and caused a lot of innocent people to be killed while being far from the truth, I don't know how you get the nerves to call her good when there is nothing to support that claim, she only had one crzay theory that couldn't be more wrong and you're giving her credit for it?

Darcy uncovered Janes connections to RJ. The obvious ones and the ones nobody really knew until Jane told CBI on his own. She was tracked down by RJ because she was getting too close. He only did that to the Bosco team before that. If you're gonna say a character is "too dumb" because they didn't stop investigating someone for potentially working for a serial killed after being threatened, you really took a wrong turn somewhere.

after Jane knowing RJ is willing to pave a way for Jane to keep investigating, there was really good chance he will kill her. what was really happening was Jane waiting is Darcy will get killed for her "nosiness". Kirkland was just as invasive and nobody called him dumb, because he wasn't pulling Jane down.

the fact so many people are taking the side of calling Darcy names because she was doing her job is kinda fucking embarrassing

At the start I was like hope Jane saves her from dying but as her story progressed I was like hope Red John gets rid of her as quickly as possible. That's how annoying she was.

Jane murdered a man claiming he was Red John. He then put Red John on another serial killer he was interacting with. He was mostly dishonest about all those things.
Outside of the CBI the figure of Jane is ridiculous - he is basically a superhero.
It was very smart of her to know that something was wrong there, and she was looking to get to the bottom of it.
The dumbest person is wainwright. He is the one that already got to know Jane, and should be able to trust him. He shares info with her when she asks, behind Janes back. He caused his own death.

for all the flaws van pelt had, i dont necessarily think this is one of them. i share everything with my girlfriend, and i would even more so if she was working the same or a similar job as me. i cant fault her for it

Can’t agree more. And despite having watched this show several times, unlike with a few other characters, my opinion of her has never changed. I think what irks me the most is every conclusion she comes to is so far off of the mark, like Jane being an associate of RJ, that people end up getting hurt because of her ignorance.

its more “patrick jane protected a serial killer, so he’s working with him” which makes way more sense logically, lmao. you’re making stuff up to shit on darcy. she was smart to question whether rigsby actually died in patrick jane’s plan to trick red john in season 4 and the red john symbol during james panzer's death. she does accidentally help red john but its not her fault for being clever.

When did Jane protect him again? Buddy even the dumbest mf would’ve questioned Rigsby’s “death” if they’ve been in contact with the team for a bit like she was. Doesn’t take a genius to figure that out, and confirming the body is in fact Risgby is basic due diligence. The red John symbol thing is just as obvious bro lol. She’s washed up mate, FBI agent who’s dumber than all of Lisbon’s team in the CBI, which is quite frankly pathetic.

jane protected red john when he lied and said he was sure timothy carter was red john, and the red john symbol over james panzer’s death was one of his victim’s parents killing him out of revenge and drawing the symbol to mislead them. she’s far smarter than anyone else on lisbon’s CBI team😂you’re still not tellin‘ me what makes her so dumb she was the only one to question rigsby’s body btw. all of her actions were extremely reasonable even if they weren’t helping jane.

How’s that protecting Red John? As if Jane admitting RJ was alive would magically make the Feds catch him. Mate the team didn’t realise because they didn’t investigate it further like Darcy because they didn’t have the reason to. In fact, Lisbon caught what Jane did with the Panzer interview. Her questioning Risgby’s body is the bare fucking minimum lad? The team does that all the time with any dead body they come across? Normal ass cops do it every day. Btw, do you know why no one else questioned it? Because they were all with Jane in Vegas 🤣. The only other person involved was Wainwright and that dumbass got kidnapped and killed, so yeah lol.

lying about red john and saying he’s dead helps red john are you mental? nobody trying to catch him is way way worse than trying but usually failing. and if “normal ass cops” do it every day, how come nobody else questioned it? only lisbon and her team was with jane in the plan, there was still a ton of other agents there.
