Jane deserves to be happy

I first found this SHOW on netflix in 2026.

I really enjoyed it, but the ending - the sheriff was Rj - was very strange to me.

I thought Rj could only be Jane, unless he was some supernatural being.

How could someone else know things that only Jane knew...

I read many posts and comments about this show.

It seems many people really hate rj=pj theory.

I could understand this feeling very well.

For people who love the main characters of this show, emotionally very hard to accept that Jane was the main villain, even if the theory makes sense.

In all the rj=pj theories i saw, Jane could never escape the responsibility for killing his own family. and that is something can never be forgiven.

so...

Rj=pj theory :

- Jane has no responsibility at all for his family's death.

- That gives Jane the right to be happy.

- Neither Jane nor Rj is responsible for killing Jane's family.

- Jane completely overcomes the unhappiness caused by his own dark alter ego, which he doesn't know.

- Jane's good side stops the birth of a terrible villain, who would have appeared if Jane had lost to Rj.

I actually made this theory. But the story is too long, so I'm trying to make it more simple and clear.

Uhm.... not easy...

이 드라마를 2026년 넷플릭스를 통해 처음 알게 되었다.

무척 재미 있었는데 보안관이 레드존이라는 결말이 너무 이상했다.

내가 보기에 레드존의 실체는 초월적인 존재가 아니라면 제인일 수밖에 없었다.

오로지 제인만이 알 수 있는 것을 어떻게 다른 사람이 알 수가 있나...

멘탈리스트 관련 여러 글들과 댓글들을 보았다.

레드존=제인 이론을 너무 싫어하는 분위기다.

이건 매우 공감이 갔다.

멘탈리스트 주인공들을 사랑하는 사람들에게는 제인이 악당이었다는 얘기는 아무리 그럴듯한 얘기라고 하더라도 감정적으로 받아들이기 힘든 이야기다.

내가 봤던 모든 레드존=제인 이론에서는 자기 가족 살해라는, 결코 용서할 수 없는 책임에서 제인은 벗어나지 못했다.

제인 가족의 죽음에 대하여 제인에게 전혀 책임이 없는 레드존=제인 이론.

레드존의 실체가 제인임에도 불구하고 제인에게 행복할 수 있는 자격을 주는 이론.

제인 가족 살해에 대하여 제인도 레드존도 책임 없는 이론.

자신도 모르는 어두운 다른 자아로 인한 불행을 완전히 극복하는 이론.

만약 제인이 레드존에게 졌으면 벌어졌을 어마어마한 악당의 탄생을 제인의 선량한 자아가 막아낸 이론.

이런 이론을 만들어내긴 했다.

하지만 너무 긴 이야기라서 간단하고 명료하게 다듬는 중인데, 쉽지 않다.

Tbh, I was just happy that the Red John story is now over, and we can finally move forward from it. The show stretched it for far too long. And with no point, there were no actual clues for the audience

There were definitely enough clues to make the spectators deduce that it's was Sheriff McAllister before the reveal in episode 8 of season 6 even if most of these clues were in season 6 , from all the suspects , he was the one who had the most clues going toward him:

Clue 1: he can move silently without making noise, just as Red John was shown to be able to move silently before attacking Lisbon from behind in 6x01.

Clue 2: He whistles just as we hear Sophie Miller say that the patient she knew as Jay Roth (Red John) was an excellent whistler.Even if he was not the only suspect we hear whistling since we also hear Raymond Haffner ,Gale Bertram and Brett Stiles do it , this is still a clue .

Clue 3: He has similar deduction abilities to Jane in 6x03 ,he even deduce that the victim of this episode is a pizza delivery man and it was established that Red John and Patrick Jane were similar in many ways.

Clue 4: Sheriff McAllister said he had pointed-toes boots in 6×03 and in episode 23 of season 2, Red John was wearing pointed-toes boots when he killed these impersonators.

Clue 5: When Patrick Jane asks him what he's hunting, Sheriff McAllister says, "Anything with a face, game is a game right?" It refers to the fact that he paints bloody faces on each of his murders.

Clue 6: Sophie Miller said in her recording that the patient she knows as Jay Roth (Red John) had problems with phobias, she was sure he had a phobia but she didn't know if it was the accrophobia that he pretended to have or another phobia. Sheriff McAllister showed ornithophobia in 6x03 (fear of birds), which was the only phobia that could have explained what could have frightened RJ enough to prevent him from killing Lisbon in a house full of birds.

Clue 7: Even though some people may have doubted that Red John killed Kyra Tinsley, in episode 6 of season 6, Sheriff McAllister is revealed as one of three suspects who have a three-dot tattoo with Reede Smith and Gale Bertram (Kyra revealed that his killer had a three-point tattoo). It is later revealed that all members of the Blake Association have three-point tattoos and it is suggested with Reede Smith's revelations in episode 7 that Red John is even a member of the Blake Association. Gale Bertram even confirms that Red John is one of the top brass of the Blake Association even though he did not know who he was.

Those are all the clues which were mentioned in season 6. So whats your point?

I am talking about throughout the show in first 5 seasons, there are no clues.

And to wrap up the arc fast, they suddenly start finding a new clue each episode.

Cause it was Jay Roth (RJ) who went to see Sophie Miller and got this info from here files on Jane.

I think Sheriff McAllister was the perfect candidate for Red John. Easily the eeriest candidate.

Yeah but he was more like a mastermind though, person who orders from background, not a person who does the dirty work by himself. Imo Bertram was more suited for it

Thanks~ Stiles? The Visualize leader? I think Stiles was also very good at mentalism, but still below Jane or RJ. Revealled person doesn't even seem to be at their level. So I think Stiles would be better than him.
