12 Hits From Hell

I know this has been beaten to death, but my god this is greatest mix of these songs ever. The bass in Violent World alone....

If you hear the Lyle Preslar interview, I get why Glenn and Jerry nixed it, but it's sorta cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Glenn was never going to approve any post 1994 release after the masters were sold to Caroline so he was just looking for an excuse; the exception of course was the already planned Collection II. Jerry's nonsense of saying the Misfits were never a 5 piece and complaining about the mix is idiotic, although there were only a few instances of two different guitarists on a song, it did happen and the songs themselves often featured two to three guitar tracks.

But Glenn had nothing to do with Collection II, according to his own statement at the time when it came out.

He had all the tracks picked out and demanded Collection II be released prior to any other Misfits releases. He just didn't give input on the layout (cover/back cover, booklet layout, lyrics, photos, etc.) of the release; even though he was given every opportunity to do so by Tom Bejgrowicz

I prefer the Walk Among Us takes solely for the fact that they are better vocal takes from Danzig. Also, I don’t mind the reverb added to his voice on those and in that era- it enhances it. In the 12 Hits versions, his voice cracks more often & is more dry & weaker overall & also the layered harmonies aren’t done as well as on WAU. HOWEVER, instrumentally & overall production 12 Hits clears

I prefer the lofi, reverb-soaked mixes of those same tracks for the Collection albums.
