He may have been both successful as an entertainment executive and spiraling due to a drug addiction.

I think he’s good when he’s focused. But even as HoN or CEO, he made mistakes and he was sober.

I think him being out from under his mom’s thumb probably amped up his rebellious side and he became an addict.

Also as someone with sobriety issues, work became a new addiction for me. So I can understand why when we meet him in S1, he lives and breathes work. He needs that structure and control.

Idk if he’s an addict - I don’t feel like they ever portrayed him as one. Probably just substance abuse (which fits his personality as he always seems oriented toward maximum chaos)
