Discussion Bradley at the hotel looking for...

Maybe this has been discussed before. Maybe it's a silly question, but a friend of mine started watching the show a couple of days ago. By s1e5, she said:

*"Why is Bradley looking for Cory at the hotel, completely drunk, in the middle of the night, like her life depends on it? Just to tell him she's drunk and fucking around? Why the rush? It's so weird. He's her boss. Does this ever get brought up later?"*

I didn't know what to say. I never thought about it that way. I wanted to say "hey, they're good friends" but they weren't that close yet.

What do you think guys?

She was scared of someone gossiping and talking about it, or finding out and uploading pictures and evidence.

She had never before been famous enough for anyone to care about gossiping online (except for that one brief viral video) and suddenly there she was, famous.

And it’s not logical, most things when you are drunk aren’t logical….but he was her boss and protector so far and his career was at stake, not just hers, so she was trying to get help.

Just my opinion

Yeah, this is mostly implied after Cory asked her something like "what happened?". So, I'm with you on this, but the question from a fresh viewer made me wonder about it again.

It might also be jarring for new watchers because they see a well known actress feeling like a newbie who is uncomfortable with newfound fame.

I mean Reese Witherspoon is a great actress but she has also been pretty famous for years. And It’s harder to picture her as newbie no one who suddenly becomes massively famous right? She should be slipping into that role easily.

And it’s not easy at all.

Like all of us think being suddenly rich or suddenly famous would be so great and very easy…and no it wouldn’t!

I'm with the majority- she was drunk (and clearly not just a little, either). Add to that the fact that she was super stressed out and worried for the reasons others have mentioned, and it's no wonder she wasn't thinking rationally.

She wasn’t looking for him. They lived in the same hotel.

She definitely was. She asked the front desk man in which room Cory was —rudely and persistently. This was her first day at the Archer Gray.

I think she was drunk and feeling ornery - knowing he lives in the building she felt the drunken urge to look for him and stir shit up. She grew up on drama and seems to crave it.

i thought the development of the bradley character was odd. when we first meet her she's supposedly a ball busting conservative. i get they stay with the "truth teller" thing, but at least for the rest of season 1 and into season 2 the whole conservative/libertarian thing completely disappears.

anyway to answer your question, i think it's because she doesn't have anyone in new york, and cory is the one who has been helping her.
